Awesome!

I ordered the Asfir skids from Slee.. and hope to pick them up next week. I am thinking hard about switching to the Slee plates though given the Xmas deals. I do want to run the Al plates though (now kids, don't post up about aluminum vs. steel here, there's another thread for that!)

Anyway, by next weekend I should be able to post up if I run into interference issue with one or the other, with the MT sliders.

I was interested in the Asfir, and when I called up Ben at Slee, their system just seemed to be a better design for fluid changes and replacing the cross member with better support.

The skids are in and the answer is that they will work, but with some modification. It's not a bolt up and go solution. The sliders have ubolts that attach around the frame. The Slee skids sit flat on the frame at the mid point. So, we are going to use the ubolts on the front and rear, and modify the middle support some then weld it to the frame. All in all, probably not a DIY for me (but then again none of this has been).

I was afraid of this. Slee sliders use a similar U-bolt design. I wonder what is different with MT? Pics of your fix? Welding is not my preferred method :-/

Any chance of drilling the skid plate to allow the u-bolt to go through instead of a weld?

I am going with those also Tim..Steel is great and all but I just don't think for what I am evolving to with wheeling I need or want the weight.

Gotta get my order in.

Yeah I checked them out last night at Slee's shop, no question they're not as beefy as his steel ones, but half the weight is intriguing and for how I'm going to use this truck, the more appropriate choice so I'm going with them. I should be able to get them installed by the weekend, will post up if I run into any interference issues with the MT sliders.

Jason, I've installed both and there's likely very little difference in the U-bolts or what's under the frame, the differences start at the outriggers then extend out from there. I suspect you'll have the same fitment issue/solution with the MT sliders as you do the Slees... though I don't know the exact location differences, if any.
