Are the sliders under MT or OPOR on webb site
Thanks
Ugh, this is getting tempting, need to figure out how to approach the wife with this one....

When I filter by 100 series, I see both MT and OPOR
I always thought the sliders sold by MT were made by OPOR... Just like MT sells other brands of suspension and bumpers... 🤔

They're both exactly the same, Opor is just raw steel without the powder coating.

I’m so very tempted. I’ve got my 2006 lx470 we’re towing behind our Motorhome, heading up the Oregon coast. I’ll be an hour away from metal tech... but Ill be putting them on my new 2006 lx back home and will be selling my current lx. Will it be worth carrying them around with me for the next 2months and 5k miles?? im trying to convince myself it will be...

Make sure they have them in stock before you head to MT to pick it up. With so many orders from this GB, they usually built them after they have the orders. Mine took a month from the previous GB before I got a shipping notification.

We leave in 10 days for a 12 week Motorhome trip and will be pulling our LC behind our MH as well. The Oregon Coast is on our itinerary, so I opted to pick up my sliders from MT when on the Oregon Coast. Probably about 4 hours out of the way round trip, but a lot easier than swallowing the $250 in shipping.

I do have the convenience of leaving my running boards at home before we leave.

Good idea leaving the running boards at home, so you can install the new sliders while you're on your trip. They very easy to install... no welding. Just make sure you bring some tools specially some wrench.

when was this shipping quote done? If done prior to a few days ago, I would redo your quote as they fixed the shipping dimensions so shipping prices are a lot better.

I checked the shipping quote this morning.

There was about $100 difference in shipping quotes for the OPOR bare steel vs. MT powder coated sliders. Strange since I would think they'd have the same size and weight specs.

What number are we at now? How many ordered?

I'm confused (not too hard to make happen).

It looks like for GX470, there's ONLY OPOR sliders but LX, and 460 have MT and OPOR options. There's a 470/4th gen 4r MT hardware replacement kit, but not MT slider for 470...

Am I doing this wrong? 🤔 🤪

At least with the 80 sliders, the MT version had the fully cut/formed/gusseted/welded shells (not boxed tubing), powder-coated on the inside and out. Same basic design as the OPOR model (MT's more budget-minded brand—still made at the MT shop in Oregon) with the kick-out. The 100-series MT sliders were discontinued, as the OPOR with the boxed tube main body is much easier and cheaper to produce and seemed to be far and away the more popular choice.

I had the MT sliders on my 80 and have the OPOR set on my 100. Are the OPOR set as nice? Not really. Are they still as good or better than anything else out there? Yep. I'm a little biased because I'm just up the road from their shop, so shipping isn't an issue, but they make great stuff. Having had these OPOR sliders on my 100 for a couple years, I probably wouldn't have paid the extra for the MT sliders, even if they were an option.

Also, in case anybody is wavering, the powdercoating on my 100 sliders sucks. I took them back once and exchanged them for a set while the shop burned off the coating, prepped, and recoated my originals. They came back and looked ok, but rusted from underneath in a matter of weeks. I got tired of dealing with the guy at MT and waiting for a new set, and just sort of forgot about it as they weren't getting noticeably worse. Not trying to talk trash. Mark @helocat is a great guy and they build great stuff. Just warning people that the cost of shipping back and forth is so high, if you are on the fence, order them raw and either DIY the paint or have them powdercoated in your town.
