Ok!! It’s started!!!! And I am constantly amazed about how neglected this cruiser is.... wrong shock attachment bolts, missing washers (important ones...) and missing screws... like the rear hub retaining screws.... but I digress.... beast is finally getting proper rear springs, and being set up right! The first two pictures are what I have to undo.

Lowe’s came threw again. Found this awesome bag for my OEM tools. It is small enough to fit under the seat and hold the stock tools and a little more!

Started the front axle... more bad bolts, and now bent plates and welded plates on the axle.

I think I know one of the previous owners of this rig. He was in the Air Force in Lemoore, CA and sold before he moved. It already had the bedliner at the time. That had to be a labor of love getting all that off. Looks great.

Ok!!!! Super progress! Cut most of the spring-over-axle mod off and preped it. Also thanks to a friend I have new to me front plates!! Things are ticking along!

Nice work, a couple years ago I had to redo an SOA on a customers vehicle, they put the leaf spring on top without making any mods to it other than drilling a hole for the spring pin. Boy did the axle have some “variable caster”

Ok! Installed new seats but they had late model rails, so, new rails for the seat. wire to the temperature gauge is fixed and works. repaired the wires to the carb as they where frayed and really sketchy, but I blew the engine breaker. Fixed that and it runs fine. Found the oil pressure gauge was installed on the wrong peg engine side, so now my gauge is blown (it’s been blown as long as I’ve had it, I just know why now.. lol) and it’s back on the roadside so it’s drivable now!!!

I was also ablr to get a new OEM muffler!!!! And a bumper! I also cleaned out the entire interior before installing the seats, including pressure washing the carpet. I got ahold of OEM mudflaps, but I’ll need a new driver front as it’s metal is pretty corroded. Moving forward!! I play one piece at a time by Johnny cash all the time now... it’s my theam song

Still have some problems, timed the engine, figured out I have possy gears in my rear end (hence all the random noises in my rear axle). I’m having compression issuesas well. All cylinders are at 100 out of 150 psi. Plus I now have a coolant leak behind the engine.

coolant leak could be one of your heater lines on the firewall. Not an expert on compression but I believe those are considered very low. Have you adjusted the valves? Good luck with this as you have put a ton of work into it.

Leaks are gone. I don’t know what fixed it, but I’ve filled the coolant and no leaks. It’s been sitting in the same parking space (driven twice to get things flowing) for a week. I have also recently been told I may have done my compression test wrong, but since I’m moving I have not been able to re try it.

its been a bit but I have finally moved out to Arizona. beast is in his new home.. sort of put on hold for now, but needs a charcoal canister now... he's stinking up the garage.

It’s been a bit. I moved and put the 60 up for sale. But in the mean time I’ve put in an inclinometer, cleaned up the seats with simple green, and now I’m turning back the clock on the paint!!
