This is going IOC scandal in a hurry.

We can consider bribes to make things happen… FIFA style :hmm:

Also, I will be using a marginal CB radio for trail comm's if it matters to anyone. No HAM for me (yet).

Also, looks like things will be warming up this weekend! I am off to try and secure a camping spot on the rim for the group.

You should sell your spot! I hear they are going for millions.

For anyone who wants to join up for camping on Sat night, we will be at the end of FR 9011R, .5mi from the intersection of FR 231 and 9011R. This is roughly 4.5 mi south of the 231/231A junction (since it does not appear on most maps).

There is a white EZ up and two camp chairs at the (expansive) campsite. A rope was placed across the road to deter any campsite poaching. And the views are really, really good.

Eric, do you have a map that shows it? If so, what map is it or which digital map is it?

Thank you for all the info.

i heard a spurious rumor that Rudster was going to Ebay his spot with no reserve! ;)
Asking 6 figures for the spot...besides I got to deliver cold beer to Pitch

Goldy and I will be meeting up on the east side and then will meet the rest at Mickie D's

I have a ham radio (for listening purposes only), but no CB. Does anyone have both?

Awesome we will be there!!

Plenty of firewood can be gathered nearby, no need to bring some .

Good news on the firewood, thanks!
How long to get back to Phoenix from where we are camping do you think? I need to be home by 11:30 am on Sunday morning...looking at the maps it looks like it will be a little ride to get up to flag or at least over to I-17.

Also, anyone else bringing a HAM radio?

I will have a HAM radio, but for listen purposes only (not licensed yet).

I will have a HAM as well (for listening only) as well as two gprs two-way radios. I might bring my CB, but does anyone even use those anymore?

Andy, I would figure at least 1 hr to get to I 17. The shortest route would be 231 to 536 to 535(?) to hwy 89A north to I17.
