I have a dimly lit brake warning light on the dash. I traced it down to the master cylinder cap as the culprit. Is there a way to clean/rebuild that switch?

I am seeing it appears to be Toyota part number 8446060020 , however, that is discontinued. Is there another source for them? I see all the master cylinders on rock auto have caps so it seems they are made somewhere still?

Cheapest route is to buy the ADVICS complete Master cylinder that comes with the cap and use the cap from that, save the Master for when your original fails.

OR, just go ahead and replace the Master Cylinder now if it's the original, they do go bad and sometimes IME without much warning.

You might be able to swap in a reservior from a newer Toyota if you could source one from a wrecking yard
Looking at a 2002 105 series reservior next to the 80 series a while ago, they look like they'd swap. But haven't tried.

later models had the switch in the reservoir not attached to the cap. Similar cap.
