I'm in for one set. Thanks

How many to get it off the ground?

For the Nitro Gear 4.88/5.29 gearsets group buy- i shot for 25-30 before speaking with jUstdiffs.

Heres the plan- let this run for another week or so ( til it fizzles to a halt) then speak to or have someone speak to Marlins - simply saying " heres 35-40 interested customers ready to support you (Marlin) at $600 vs the $299 competitor TG."

If Marlin has interest........then its a done deal. If not then onto plan B.

If Marlin doesnt- the plan would be to speak to Trailgear and see if they can do a " Group Cryo Treatment " on 30 gears for free to the group buy of 25-30ppl..... at $299.

Heh, that's quite the contradiction from trying to avoid that "Chinese junk"

i actually came across a thread on cryo- treatment which may offer another alternative that hadnt really been contemplated/ pitched on the TG option improvement (if possible). Imho- i still prefer the Marlin option and would happily pay the premium over TG- Cryo.

It seems like the interest is there. And hopefully everyone can find a pricepoint and product that works for them.

Yes, yes and yes!!!
At $600 I'm in for sure!!
Somebody PM me when this plane gets off the ground!!!!!!
Hopefully Marlin will see the 80 community backing a legit product like Marlin, an kick back us 80 lovers for pushing their product!!!

In for marlin only!

That's his plan and I can assure you there would be a lot of us who are in for this group buy including myself who wouldn't go for the TG ones even if they were cryo treated.

I met Marlin last year at an event at K2 here in Texas and he invited me to his event on the Rubicon. Got to camp in the VIP section at Rubicon Springs and were 3 tents away! Super nice guy and I like that he seems to actually enjoy talking with people rather than doing it just to be nice like some other big names I've met.

Wow I feel fleeced since I bought these in Dec for $800. Terrible. I would have gone tg for $300 if I had known...

IMO the difference is marginal anyway, in case anyone wants to know. I don't think it's worth the hassle or cost. The transfer case is a heavy pig to remove and install, too. I wouldn't recommend just trying to leave half on the rig.
