Scuff Plate

Ok, the wide version works great, as the wiring harness fits under it. I also found this threshold rubber with a little triming, fits the edge and covers the bottom of the plate. I just need to find it in black. Lastly I painted the lower portion in black Hammered paint and add the rubber trim.
This is not final but close.

Scuff plates

Thanks Dave, Here's the final product and I'm satisfied with how they turned out. I'm going to send the profile out and see if it can be produced and not break anyones pocket. I was thinking if I could get the profile produced in 4 to 6ft lengths, I could cut them and send them out along with the rubber base trim. I'll keep you all updated. Charles if this profile can be produce down there, I can send you a proflie sample. Let me know, seeing as how you started this idea.

I'm interested - assuming the April payment deadline no longer applies.

No the April deadline for my sill plates is not going to happen. I'm having a tough time finding a press brake here in Guatemala so it'll be on the backburner till August. If you need them sooner go with Lou's idea. His idea is probably less expensive.

Roll Forming

Did some research and here's the skinny, the channel is called hat channel and is produced by roll forming, this method produces a round edge. Google roll forming and check it out.
The only problem is finding a company that will do a small run or that stocks a shape & size that will work. So far most of the companies have a minimum run of 5000 ft:frown:
So the question is does anybody know anybody that works or knows someone how works for a roll forming company.

just did some googling, have you tried these guys? Speedy Metals Online Industrial Metal Supply

Thanks Sporin, I called them and they don't fab anything but as far as these being the nicest thing on your pig the good news is they are not going to cost that much.
I found a small extursion company in VA that will hard break the hat channel and punch cut them to lengths.
I should have a price tomorrow, the minimum order is $300.00
To keep cost down for those interested I can ship them raw, no rubber no paint and you can finish them the way you want. Powder Coat, Herculine the top edge, paint etc.....

Lou......awesome:clap:........those small details add up; just keep us posted and let us know about how to go about sharing costs:cheers:

Lou, a bit unclear; will they be able to give us the curve towards the dash that goes on the front part of the trim piece?;

If your asking if they will curve up towards the dash, no that would be very expensive but I will ask them today.

scuff plates

Here's the deal, $40.00 plus shipping to your door. You will receive 4 new aluminum scuff plates for your pig. I have thought about this and will send the scuff plates plain, not drilled, not painted, powder coated and no rubber base. That way you could customize them to your taste.

Please pm me if your interested, I'll place the order next week.

Regards

Lou
