Just bought a 2017 Tacoma after selling my 3rd gen 4Runner. I am curious what everyone recommends for Fluids at the 75,000 mile service mark. I plan on replacing all of the fluids just to baseline the vehicle. Coolant I will go with the Toyota genuine as well as for the transmission. I am mainly asking about Motor oil, Gear oil, and Transfer case oil. I was doing some light reading and saw that the transfer case might take a specific replacement not just the 75w-85 gear oil for the diffs... Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated, I am excited to be apart of the group.
-Thank you

Truck looks good. I’ve been wanting a Tacoma and considering around your year range.

I hope others will post up recommendations. I don’t currently have a taco like yours but only use mobile 1 synthetic in my 460 and fjcruiser. A lot of people seem to be happy with amsol products for drivetrain. If you go a certain route post up here. I’d like to see more post in this section to keep info on mud instead of other forums.

If you follow a couple people you like on YouTube or instgram whose focus is on Tacoma maintenance I’ve seen lots of videos of people doing the fluid changes and explaining why.
I’m usually on my phone and my kid gets the tv so that’s what I consume. I’ll post up tomorrow if I can find any. I’ve seen some good main videos on the newer Tacomas like yours

I've always used mobil 1 full synthetic for motor oil and it has never given me issues either. I would be curious to send it off for testing to see if the longevity is true. I will definitely keep an update here when I decide what to go with. I would also like to see what you can come up with so please update!

There is one video specifically I’m trying to find that was a cool guy in California just spending time doing maintenance to a Tacoma and explaining his thought process from being a Toyota mechanic for several decades.

I’ll keep looking for it because I kinda want to watch for motivation myself for days like today when tired from work but enjoy Toyota stuff.
I’ve been scared to test oil. Don’t want to know I guess haha

Here’s some I saved a few years ago while I look for the one I want to find.

This is one I was thinking of

I remember thinking this was a good one to get to know the platform. The mechanic starts explaining about 1 minute 30 seconds in what oils he likes and why. Seems to be good info and a well spoken speaker.

I think I have seen this one and saved it to my YouTube watchlist. Thank you for sending, keep in touch and I will let you know what route I decide to go for fluids etc.
