When I purchased my Dobinsons I was determined to paint them black. When they finally arrived, I was too excited to try them out that I just installed them without painting them. I always figured if it bothered me that much, I will pull them off and paint them. The color has since grown on me and I really don't mind it at all.

After reading these posts complaining about the ugly color of these coils I am disappointed.... especially if the dobinson coils perform better than coils of other color. Quit judging based on color, O'Biden would be ashamed of you guys.
We drive land cruisers here, I thought we drove them because they performed better than comparable rigs in the same price range, not because they look cool.
Come on, 80 series are ugly as F. They are like the ugly fat girl that makes up for her looks with reliability and performance where it counts. This is like judging an ugly chub because her shoes look funny.
If you don't like the big fugly gals than date a skinny sexy chick, just know she will be high maintenance and full of drama. Sure you can show her off but you won't be able to rely on her when it counts. But you can be sure she will have pretty shoes.....
Hell, if one is so concerned about the color of their coils than maybe they should buy a jeep to drive to the mall.
I can live with the coils even though they will clash with my Wildwood's, I'm more concerned about using the shock boots with the MRR's. Not a fan of them but realize it will likely destroy the rods without... Brings back memories of my SLEE gen 1 arms and the rust inhibitors they were, not sure they did much else.
Anyone have detail of the next shipment for springs here coming in March/ April? Delta seems to be MIA lately but they likely drop ship anyway.
EDIT: they dont seem to stay up well either
All joking aside, I think Dobinson arguably offers one of the best suspensions at a reasonable price. Good options, ride, flex, and weight capability. What else could you ask for? Besides a different color that is.
Not sure why y'all are dogging on "fat girls." Everyone needs and deserves love. And if you think the 80 Series is fugly, you and I aren't from the same planet. Just sayin...
Hey man, for the front, was it the 1.75" 110-220lbs spring or the 2.5" stock weight?
My cruiser is all stock weight and will be stock weight, I'm trying to figure out the best combo for a perfect 2.25"-2.5" levelled out lift as well as comfort.
What were your findings?
I'm looking at:
First recommendation:
Front Spring: C59-166 - Linear Rate - 2.5" with Stock front weight
Front Shock: GS59-683 - 0-3" Front Twin Tube Shocks
Rear Spring: C59-169 - Linear Rate - 2.0" with up to 220lbs
Rear Shock: GS59-682 - 0-3" Rear Twin Tube Shocks
OR
Second Recommendation:
C59-220V 2.0″ Lift Progressive Rate with 0-110LBS Load
C59-223v 1.75″ lift with up to 220lbs weight (variable rate) - this will be more like 2" with no rear weight
Shocks are where it matters. OME shocks are some of the worst for ride. Nothing wrong with OME coils though, pair them with good shocks and they are just fine.
Hi, need your advice. Installed the ome 2.5" lift, front heavy (delta bumper), rear medium. Truthfully, I really dislike the bumpiness when going over potholes. Had Icon in my FJ cruiser and really like how comfortable they are on highway. Now, that I have a little girl and I use the car mainly for daily commute, no plan turning it into an overland. Would you recommend the dobinsons shocks? I can swap them with the OME? Thanks
