Wow! I would love to know what that set you back if you don’t mind. Looks awesome!
I paid 1800 for the job. I know it’s quite a lot but it’s also a relief tht it was done. This included grinding away the previous rubberized undercoat and rust, degreasing, prime, paint, fluid film and prime and paint of the skid plates separately. It’s hard to find people who do this by me. So, even though it was a tough amount to swallow, I gladly paid the man who worked everyday for a week on my truck.

Honestly, I don't think $1,800 is a lot considering the amount of work and the end result. You probably bought YEARS more for your LX and you'll get a good chunk of that back in resale value if you ever decide to sell.

Thats a great price after seeing the results. I've been quoted for more than that for similar work. And that shop quoted POR15, I would prefer the fluid film your shop used! I may have to take a drive up there asap.

How long did it take?
Did they end up replacing stuff while they were doing it? I could see them cleaning an area and realizing something needs replaced like a brake line or something.

Thanks for sharing what you paid, makes it super helpful for others like me planning their attack on the rust.

I believe it added more value then what I paid to be honest. Someone will be 10k more for a clean frame compared to how it was before. They do not replace parts as far as I know. They don’t do restoration. They focus on the entire undercoating service. That being said I’m sure they will help in anyway they can when and if something breaks as they do treatment.

Today I was able to finally put my painted ASFIR OFFROAD skid plates in. Loving the look and feel much better knowing I’m protected. Just hope I don’t have to take them off anytime soon. Here’s how it looks.

I’ve added a bug deflector and well visors. I’m still not sure how I feel about them but the look is growing on me.

Trying to track down some warning light issues with the ABS led my mechanic to finding a mouse lair behind my dash panel. Apparently it made a comfortable home in there for a while with evidence of droppings. It chewed through my ABS wire and it had to be replaced. I’m just glad it wasn’t anything more serious.

Finally, got around to installing the switch pros switch panel on my cruiser garage switch panel bracket. Although, the conversion trim for the 2006 lx470 doesn’t seem to fit properly. May have to cut the piece to fit. Also installed Stedi ditch lights brackets on the coughlan designs ditch light brackets. Be careful how you do your wiring because I crushed a light plug when closing the hood. I’m still happy with the turn out. Much more to come in the lighting department.

Was able to add the type X pro LED fog lights from Stedi Australia. Loving the new look

Great build.. where did you source the Roadsafe tow points? AU? I just spoke to the shop that did the underside of your truck ... Chris was super helpful... they are booked through July but I'm considering shipping my truck in August.

Yes they’re from Australia. Took a while but it was worth it. Garden state undercoating does a great job. Had to wait two months for the appointment.

I saw someone do this and asked if about them clarity. After confirming he had no issues I tried the same and I have to say the clarity is superb. Big improvement

Also, I received the ram mount in the mail today. Loving it so far! View attachment 2409118View attachment 2409932View attachment 2409933
How are you liking the mount? Can you position it relatively out of the way of the radio controls and air vent? I’m looking at this one before our 3,000mi road trip this summer.

I love the mount. It is out of the way of the vents but the climate controls are roughly behind my phone when I’m using it. I barely use radio now it’s all from my phone with the bt45 in the dash

How are you liking the Stedi Type X Pro? Looking to get a pair too very soon. Btw did you order it straight from Stedi’s website and they shipped it to you from Au? Any issues with the shipping?

@Lcerva How has your undercoating held up so far? I know it hasn't been that long but I'm curious to hear your thoughts on it since getting it done. My cruiser is scheduled to get the same treatment in November.

Others have reported issues w the hurrican tailgate storage in an lx470 but looks like yours went in well. Do you have plenty of storage space or do the reverse lights take up a good bit of room?

I have a hurrican on my 80 and it's great, looking to install one on my 07 lx470.
