Take a look at the interior door handles; big difference! looks like the LC shares the look of the new Sequoia. The LX dash also has a mush smoother line and looks less modular; I have seen both up close, and although the finish was closer in the past between the two; I think the LX shows a much better quality finish this time around; especially the wood finish on the LC(what were they thinking) totally looks plastic. The seat warm control knobs near the shifter with the slight shade of orange? Yes, it still looks good, but when there is hardly a difference between the two in price; you have to take a harder look. LX does have a better stereo, leather, wood trim, HID headlights that do not protrude as far out as the LC, and a four year warranty. Think hard before you pull the trigger, its a very expensive decision. I'm still hooked on the LC pedigree name...

You ignored the big tradeoff. The LX doesn't have KDSS.
Basically, trading bling for capability. Now if the LX comes w/ KDSS, that would be a much more difficult decision.

are you sure that the lx does not have the kdss?? I have been hearing different things like the lx does not have hid lights also?

LX definitely does not have KDSS (yet). It does have AHC... :frown:

edit: I haven't thought about the physics of this yet, but the two systems may be incompatible.

The GX has KDSS and rear AHC.

KDSS is a swaybar system. AHC is a shock/coil system. 2 different things. I like the LC's setup much better b/c of regular coils (more reliable, easy to lift & mod) and KDSS. So, more reliable, more durable, more capable, easier to mod,and about $5-8K cheaper. I also think the exterior looks better than the LX. LX interior looks a lot better tho- but not enough to really matter.

Right now, the easy choice is the LC- KDSS FTW!

Just curious, do you like the cooler box, or would you rather it be a conventional center console for stuff ??

The cooler box has come in handy alot. I find if I have more glove box space it normally gets filled with junk!

Unfortunately I think the cooler box is part of the Upgrade pkg group that seem to be coming on a high majority of LC's. That's the kind of thing that really bothers me on these "pkgs". They include things like the cooler box that I would never want as a stand alone option. They force feed it to you whether you want it or not !!

I totally agree!!!

define tear the s*** out of it?:)

Trails where there is a high probability of incurring mild to major cosmetic and/ or mechanical damage to the vehicle. Trails that are very much more challenging than say the trail in Dtt's video. No offense Dtt, just using the video as an example of how an owner of a new 200 would most likely wheel his/her vehicle off road, realistically speaking. I am sure that peoples definition of "challenging" will vary widely though.

My apologies for describing the LC interior as bland.
While I slowly remove da foot from my rectum .......
Just came back from the Lexus dealer where I was able to seat in the LX570, to my chagrin the driver's front seat does not extend as the description in the brochure says. However it goes up and down just like the cheaper ES instead of the more sophisticated and expensive LS.
The reason for my apology is that I am looking at the new Land Cruiser under a different light now that I have the LX570 out of my system.

I'm not sure this has been brought up before, but on the LX, the switches for the AHC, etc should have been placed somewhere other than right in front of the cup holders. Where they are now looks to be a prime place for fluids to spill into.

Does the LC, like the LX have a hard drive to store music, pics, ect ? I haven't been able to get any info about this feature (granted, I haven't tried very hard either!) ...:hhmm:

I combed through the LC brochure their is no mention of a hard drive.

There are some questionable omissions as far as features are concerned on the 200. Hell, you can get a TJ with the MyGig system that has quite good MM storage. Also, no HID's ?? Christ, a freaking Altima has those ( as well as quite a few other vehicles costing substantially less than the $70,000 LC) !! Oh, but wait, the LC does have that sterling dependability record () . The LC also has that asinine "cooler box" thingy and those non removable (compaired to the 80 and 100 series, that is) 3rd row seats (:bang: ) !!

twstrchasr,
haven't you ever heard the saying,
"Nothing is perfect and those that expect perfection are doomed to eternal disappointment."

your last 5-10 pages of "find more posts by twstrchaser" give new meaning to the the term "Mr. Negativity"
