If you get all options on your LC you basically have a LX with one of the 6K+ option packages. A few more features on the LX but nothing really impressed me. I looked over both before buying the LC and am happy with my decision. I also could not put together a color combination I liked with the LX and finally the LANDCRUISER rear emblem is just plain bad 
I really have not been this happy purchasing a new 4WD in a long time! Having a blast with it both on and off road here in NH. Good luck.

Other than that, the LX has a weak styled front end compared to the LC. Atleast the LC has this bold "big daddy" look.

You much have rich tastes. The LC interior is sure not bland IMO.
In comparison with my 2003 TLC this new LC interior is not only bland to me
but the driver's seat is uncomfortable.
To each their own. The seats are incredibly comfortable to me and all my passengers. I am coming from very comfortable seats in my Acura TL.
The interior bland? I think you are just trying to find anything negative you can.
I have heard people saying they don't like it, but not bland.
I didn't know about the AC Seats....hmmm that might have changed my mind!!

^^^^ The LX570 has perforated seats , like the LS430/ LS460 .

If it's like other European makes I've experienced, then the seating surfaces are perforated and there are fans underneath the surfaces that draw heat away from your backside and keep air circulating back there. Not technically A/C, but very refreshing and keeps the back very cool and sweat-free, without turning it into an icebox.

Well, I guess technically they're off the asphalt, but a dirt trail like that is not what I would consider "off-road."
That alone would be enough to skip the LX and go for the LC. Yes, I believe KDSS is that much more significant.
Also the words of the Toyota guru at the 50th Anniversary - that the LC is designed for maximum durability, thus passing the electrical doodads to the LX.
KDSS has got to be the significant development for SUV's (beyond ABS/TRAC technology) When KDSS trickles down to the FJ CRUISER and 4RUnner, I think we will see people really exploit the benefits of KDSS, crawl and other features.
I do like the LX's interior w/ psuedo-RangeRover instrumentation and switches but hate the blobby nose and blingy tails.
