It’s so good, I’ve stopped looking at other vehicles……

Also driving 60-70 yields 13-15mpg vs 70-80’s 11….
 
I have my LX in for its first (to my ownership) service. Has 130km (not miles) on the clock.

You fellas probably think I’m retarded / lazy, but I’m pretty time poor with a full on job and three kids under 10 etc. And as much as I like tinkering I just don’t have time to do all this stuff myself.

I have asked Lexus to do a trans flush, AHC drain and flush, new globes if needed, trans re-flash if needed, and to generally go over the car and find anything that needs doing.

I’ll report back on the suspension when done. Also getting some 18’s on the car (non lt) to soften things up. This cars a highway cruiser for me, and want it comfortable and compliant as possible.

And like above, if I set cruise to 110kph vs 115kph, it’s an approx 15% - 20% more fuel usage for that 5kph!!

And yes, a little jump in cruising can make a massive difference in mileage and range :). With the 2016+ LX and the 8 speed I got some pretty solid range up until 70~75 MPH so somewhere between your 110 and 115 KPH. I may or may not have had a few stretches around 125-130 kph and took a hit, but still got reasonable range.
 
Man, this car is something special. After a pretty massive service as above, it’s significantly softer in comfort. Transmission feels more relaxed. I didn’t have my car for 36hrs, and I missed it!!!
 
One lift, one mechanic, and one huge pair of channellock pliers later and we're back in business. Last globe installed, one final bleed, and she drives like new.
So the moral of your story is to use a 6 point socket. Impact wrench or long breaker bar?
I’m getting set to replace globes next month, and I have been fortunate to collect a lot of info from this forum, especially since I just discovered this as opposed to the AHC BASICS sticky thread that kind off died off.many thanks to all who contributed what they did and what might they might have done differently. One at a time my questions all get answered, except I am thinking new globes should be filled with fluid when installed or if not where would the air in the globes go in the system. What do you think the best practices is on that step?
Any and all free advice will be gladly accepted for consideration. I looking forward to replacing the globes and fluid without any snafus with no more than two trips to the parts store for thingsoverlooked or loser. Then I can set out on some alpine loop trails before the snow flies, and more importantly before I get roped in by the MD’s chasing after me to do a little mitral valve repair. I think with a lx570 in good working order, I can at least let them try to chase me down Black Bear Pass, and if they can do that I will let them use their chainsaws to crack ne open….

Not sure if you’ve looked at the globes, but there really isn’t anywhere to put fluid. Maybe a tablespoon, and you’d probably spill it trying to install the globes. Remember it takes the weight of the truck to compress the pressurized bladder in the globes.

Globes are on order so haven’t had a chance to check them out yet. I had figured they had fluid in them. Thanks for clarifying that.

Definite yes on the 6 point socket. That's what I was using, and it slipped off and stripped the nut. There isn't a ton of bite so you have to be cautions. I've changed 8 globes between two LX's, 7 of them without issue ;)

Definite no on the impact wrench. Others on this forum have stripped or completely sheared off the head when doing so. Do it by hand, keep the socket flush, and there's an 87.5% chance you'll be totally fine.

However, one feect I noticed since some time is the lack of any change in rigidity of the suspensions regardless of changing the selector from comfort to normal or to sport.
I remember distinctly that when new, on sport it was becoming so rigid to be almost uncomfortable, and now it doesn't.
Has anyone experienced the same and sorted it by replacing anything in addition to the globes/oil ?
 
After my replacement Sport is only used on highway 70+mph and it does a great job. Sport is pretty rough for city

The sport mode is stiff now. I thought my lx was riding fine but I was wrong. It is so much better now.

I saw @krice118 and @TTO5 posts. How much ride quality improved. I had purchased parts from us and japan.
 
Before replacement felt like a pogo/ and I looked like a bobble head. Now the dampening is so refined and body roll is much improved.

I will also add I have since stopped looking at other cars to buy…. I greatly love the LX and not sure what else could beat it for $~34k I’m into it

I had the same issue with the ride selector, but changing fluids and globes did not seem to make a big difference, at 125k miles. Previous visit to a specialty shop told me maybe the shocks were getting old, but no leaks. The ride quality did improve with new globes but not sure if it is even worth chasing the ride selector issue, as I am not inclined to replace shocks at this point.

Finally getting ready to do this job, is the 2.5l can of ahc fluid a sufficient amount to flush the system? Should I get an extra liter?
 
I had struts/mounts, globes and ahc flush. The shop used ahc fluid( 3) 2.5 quart cans
 
I drained about 52 ounces of old fluid out of the reservoir. Bleeding the actuators took the remainder of the 2.5 liter can and then a little bit more from a new can. If you’re not replacing globes you can probably get by with one can, but won’t be a complete flush. Better than nothing.
