I know that there is a half million LS swap forums. But I want some insight from you guys on mud on what I could do. I want yalls thoughts on your current swap, what you would do differently how much you like it over stock so on

I'm mostly wanting to keep this on the less expensive side.
I'm curious in what engine you guys are running and how you like it as well as the transmission.
I'm gonna keep the stock transfercase because that's a no brainer.

Wondering what and how yall feel about swaps that are paired with the 5.3, 5.7 or 6.0 with a 4L80 or NV4500.

I want non AFM/DOD on it so that pushed most motors to pre 2008.

Do yall like a stand alone harness like a Holley Terminator or do you guys prefer stock ECU with a depinned harness.
Im not to worried about the labor on it

Just wanting to take in all the options before I settle on one

Built 6.0 L96 with a 6L80 trans is what is in mine. I used the L96 so I could run regular fuel . Read the swap thread it will tell you everything you need to know.

If your going LS, with the engine out why not just DoD and Active Fuel delete while it’s on the stand even on a post 2008 sample. You’re going to want to do as much resealing as you can before you stuff it in the engine bay.

I thought about 6L80s but how was the wiring for one.

It uses canbus, which means one needs something to read the canbus and output Park/Neutral and Reverse. There are other devices that can do that, like from Dakota Digital (GSS-3000) but I used Swaptime's Muscle Car Module.

I am running a 2020 stock L96 with a 6L90e, with a stock GM harness. I didn't depin it.

I think there are about 4 or 5 wires left over, all related to fuel pressure/level. I just made those into an unconnected connector in case I ever add those functions later.

That's pretty cool. But gotta be expensive and very labor intensive

The cheapest way to do a swap is buy a wrecked truck with the motor and trans you want. Take all you need from it and part out the rest to recoup some money.
This is true

If you're dead set against the canbus transmission control, a 4L80 might be a good option. Should be able to pick up a truck with the engine transmission combo you want.
I de-pinned my factory harness for my LS swap FJ40. It's very simple if you follow the step by step instructions on LT1swap.com. I spent more on the adapters, flywheel, clutch, etc. than I did for my engine, wiring and gaskets.
I'd give hard thought to going with a 6L80. Two more gears will be very helpful if you want to do everything from crawling to highway cruising. Many successful users of that transmission in the V8 swap thread.

You're gonna wanna stay away from nv 4500 ls swap the engine will need to be placed almost 5 inches further back than with an automatic transmission major fire wall modification required along with some other modification.
