Howdy y'all, I just picked up a 5.3 LY5 V8, IV from 2003. It is a full motor, but it has a flex plate and some old accessory drives that I need to replace. Does anyone have a list from doing the same swap that they can share? I need a flywheel, bellhousing adapter, motor mounts, wiring harness, and fuel and ignition system + power steering adapter, AC compressor, and alternator. There is definitely some stuff missing and this is my first ever engine swap so any help is appreciated.
 
BP harness, OEM GM Stuff on accessories, delete AFM/DOD immediately.

Thread 'Cookie Cutter 5.3 Swap Into 62'

Finally decided to dive in on a 5.3 swap on my 62. I have been plotting this for a few years, and have been taking notes from many of the valuable threads here.

My goal is to make this swap as straightforward as possible. To that end, I will be blatantly copying what many folks here have painfully figured out already. Thank you for the hard work, and for taking the time to post about it. @dbbowen 's driveway swap thread was incredibly valuable, as were many others that are listed in my notes below.

As you all know, many folks here like @cruisermatt and @FJ60Cam...

I'll second the BP Automotive Harness and get in touch with @cruisermatt. He was an invaluable parts and knowledge resource for me and definitely made getting most of the parts I needed pretty easy. There are a ton of good threads you can read to get a better idea of what an LS swap entails - here are a few in addition to Dubs2017's:

I've been meaning to do this for a while now. Build Thread 'BurntToast's FJ62 Build "Hoss"'

Hey All,

Decided to start a build thread on my FJ62. Picked this one up last week for a good price, 250k on the dash.

This is the V8 Swap build for "Hoss"

Good/Great:
  • Body has very little rust, just a few spots under back window and front rock chips
  • Body has no damage, so little to no bodywork anticipated.
  • Frame, almost no rust, little bit of surface rust on the rear leaf springs.
  • Rides really good
Bad/Needs work:
  • Confirmed the emissions guy wont even test it, smokes a tiny bit and smells.

Build Thread 'WEAKFISH another FJ62 Build Thread'

After years of combing over MUD Classifieds, craigslist, marketplace, and whatever else... I finally commited to buying an FJ62. I have wanted one of these for years, and finally found the one for me. Pretty excited to get a few little things up to par, but overall its a clean cruiser and really doesn't need much work.

Pretty excited to find a California cruiser with virtually no rust what so ever. Its got a freshly rebuild 3F-E and is H-55F swapped with a Twin stick kit installed.
