Anyone look at this winch. I PM'ed the guy and he said he would be willing to come down on the price, does this look like something I should persue or just let it go by?

I think that if it works and he'd come down... get it. Even if it doesn't "work" ...they are fairly simple inside...according to Theriot. I got frustrated w/ ours and gave it to Theriot.

...it sits on the front of his rig.

However, ask Theriot. If you paid $450 for the winch, ~$200 for motor (if needed), cleaning, etc.. Remember a new one is $1,000 shipped to your door ;)

If it works and for the right price I'd say yes Corey. :)

We think alike Scott. I don't see spending 700 for a used winch, when a new one is 1000.00 and it has never yanked out a heep

Jason, I just got word that there is a yellow late 70's model FJ40 at the road For Sale on Perkins, between College and the Acadiana Thruway. My boss just got back from a meeting in BR and told me about it. If you have time to venture over there and get some pics that would be awesome.

1978 FJ40 350V8 10K obo 985-855-1485. I stuck a club business card with a note about the meeting in the glove box.
It's in the mall parking lot of where Juban's and The Caterie is:beer: 3617 Perkins Baton Rouge, LA 70808

looking for a carb

I am looking for a '72-'74 double barrel carburetor, PM me if you have one for sale.

We'll keep our eye out for you :)

Thanks, I took my own carb off the truck and brought it from AZ on the plane last weekend ;p and am starting to rebuild it; oh the smell of carb cleaner in the heat . I thought it might be nice to have a spare for reference and parts :)

no offense, but the price is just not right - at minimum it lacks a proper roll cage and traction devices to clear anything half the asking price in my perspective.......

Agreed but although I don't want to buy it, maybe some kid wants it to drive back and forth to school, climb curbs at the mall and wants to be "flashy". Again, not my rig or my color preference... someone will want it. It has a fiberglass front end as well. "Worth" is a strange word. Whomever built the sliders did a very good job though! :D

 Its a nice rig, and reliable. There are a few things I don't care for I would have done a little different the yellow paint, I did Orange :D the seats looked good 8 years ago but I wouldn't have went there. The fiberglass front end at the time looked good in the Spectre catalog but when it came in wasn't that impressive. He added 4 or 5 extra layers of fiberglass to it to beef it up. I had robbed the front end or the front end wasn't on it as I bought this rig as a parts truck and he wanted to buy it and build it. The frame, drivetrain and tub were done right with all the blasting treatment and undercoating via Rhino Liner. Crate GM 350, advanced-adapter, rebuilt 4 spd, with a 3spd transfer case out of my 70, 4 wheel disc brakes. I helped a good friend build it years ago it was his daily driver for several years.

Free to a good home... or bad, no matter

Authentic Kangaroo killer directly from Australia. Free to anyone who may want it. Come by and get it, or I'll pay for the shipping in Lafayette or Iberia parishes ;)

In good shape minus the one ding on the left hand side, damaged from a small, slow Aborigine.

Sorry for the poor pic. Only one I've got for now.
