Hey guys,

I'm new to the board and would like to introduce myself: I'm Alex and I work at a highline auto brokerage in NOLA. (www.carbinemotorcars.com) I've been looking for a nice 76-80 FJ40 for a nice weather driver, to be garaged at all other times. I do not yet know a ton about these beasts but I will definitely work my way out of NewB status.

I'm not very mechanically inclined and have decided I will do better buying a nice rig with no rust that getting into a project car. That being said, can anyone vouch for this Monroe FJ? Does anything jump out at you guys as a red flag or anything like that? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Alex

Welcome Alex glad to have you. By what I see on his listing it looks like a very nice clean rig, but there is nothing like seeing it in person. Our bud Marty has a friend in that area North Louisiana Redneck I beleive is what he goes by here. Nice fella and I'm sure he would be willing to go check it out and report his finding to you. The word passed down is he's looking to get 20K for it just an FYI. Keep in touch, we plan to make a visit with the NO guys real soon.

Welcome.

Thanks a bunch to you and him. I appreciate it. Nothing beats having someone lay eyes on it.

Scott swapped a few emails with him, correct me if I'm wrong Scott but aparantly it didn't sell on Ebay and he's not to broke up about it. He decided to keep it and was interested in joining the club. He will most likely meet us at Sicily for the Labor Day weekend ride.

Correct, sir

Australian 8-blade Fan for sale or trade

If anyone with an older FJ40 w/o fan clutch is interested, well I have a brand new Australian 8-blade fan that I cannot use. I won't fit on my rig. I have a '78 and I am also running an FJ60 fan clutch (works better for me IMHO). I don't have any cooling problems, I just wanted it!;) Anyway, it would fit on any regular rig without a fan clutch---F or 2F.

That sucks bud, if you still have it when Dad brings the rig down I'll take it and put it on there. :)
