Not sure that im following the time line corectly, but you haven't put everything back together yet and am thinking the bearings are ok.

I'd throw in some clevites and see what happens

Well I have decided to rebuild. My best guess is a problem with a piston. I reinspected the cylinders best I could from under the truck, and found a big gouge down the #6 cylinder. I talked to a local machine shop who quoted me 1700 bucks for a full rebuild. What do you guys think of that price? My experience isn't much, I have rebuilt a snowmoblie motor and 2 mercruiser 3.0 boat motors. This motor looks much more involved. I wouldn't mind doing it myself but for 1700 it hardly seems worth it. Any thoughts?
