Are there any other options for a new cowl than the two listed above? I already have the Aqualu tub.

The other question I have, looking for a good reference book or web site that has dimensions of the body, openings, etc... I will take dimensions from my rig, but it has been so hacked up by PO's, another good reference would help a lot when starting the rehab.

Did you ever find a dimensions reference? I’m searching as well.

If you already have the aquala tub I would suggest saving yourself a lot of headaches and just get their cowl and w/s frame

The downside is you wont have captive nuts in place for dash equipment but they scribe or pre-cut the major fitments

See your user name is a 69 FJ40. Should probably confirm that is the vehicle your asking about. The tub to cowl connection changed 1/79. Not sure if the 3/4 Aqualu tub changed for the different style? I know Topnault cowl did. Also in New Jersey all aluminium might be the way to go. Not a fan of the lack of detail with aluminium. But I live in Arizona making it fairly we easy to prevent rust.

I can't imagine trying to mate a Topnault 'anything' to Aqualu. I'd go Aqualu all the way, or get a used steel Toyota cowl in good shape and mate the Aqualu to it.

I’m 100% committed to the full Monty Aqualu tub/cowl/windshield but, if you go that route and plan on running a hard top, be prepared for some modifications to make the hard top work. The Aqualu windshield has a more perpendicular attitude. It will significantly affect your door gaps. Some assembly required but Its doable.

@JohnnyC - not sure the bottom mount wipers is a bad thing. For sure not OE for the year but, if your using an all aluminum set up anyway then why not?!

The all aluminum tub from Aqualu your stuck with the lower mount windshield wipers … you can not use your upper mount wiper windshield frame with their tub

Just wanted to let everyone know if you want a top mount wiper motor windshield frame we do make and stock them. They are not a popular seller but we do have them!
