i know, they’re like elbows and everybody has one or two. My current mental delusions are as follows. Coyote is a rusted memory of better days with an updated set of axles, power steering, tires and shocks. Frame okay. I also have a 1978 on the rotisserie that is really nice. Shiney paint on floors nice. Frame is also good, ready for sandblasting and paint. Both are essentially at the total restomod phase. I’d hate to loose the dollars in Coyote, but the 78 seems a more logical choice body wise.

Not sure whether to:

A) put 78 body on 73 frame and have another warthog

B) put 78 body on 78 frame to keep numbers matching for vin

Either way Coyote is on a back burner for an indefinite amount of time. My wife’s stroke and getting closer to 70 makes me question how many or which projects are left. Just really want to cruise in a fine old pig

Not sure how the title got jacked, but still looking for opinions. Maybe the universe is telling me option B.

What @wngrog said.

The pig you can drive is always better than the uncompleted perfect pig sitting in a shop.

I’d go with the 78 as Coyote II. Sometimes you just gotta let go.
Take some parts off of Coyote I to decorate your shop with.

In the long run, I see going with the 78 as saving you a lot of time and headache. You’ll make a ton more new memories sooner going that route.

Reminds me of an old thread where a guy in Colorado got his Dad’s old 55 that he pretty much grew up with. Tons of old Polaroid pics of them with it out on camping trips and whatnot. Guy decides he needs to do a restoration and starts pulling it apart. Unfortunately, nearly every inch was a rusted out waste. Realistically unsalvageable. At that point you gotta realize it’s time to move on. The past was great, but you’re never gonna relive it in the exact same way. Always something new to be experiencing.
