Looking for OEM Steelies (4260160072): do they fit 81-83? (1 Viewer)

Looking via many of the great LC vendors here and I see a lot of price options for a set of 5. Then I came across this eBay seller and was interested to see if anyone has had any positive success ordering a new set of 5 from eBay. The price is decent and they are genuine...was not sure on the wheel hub caps being genuine or reproduction...but I assume that OEM 15x5.5" wheels will fit and clear say a 1981-1984 stock FJ40?

Reason I ask is that on Cool Cruisers website for their package (again, great price as well) - they list these fitting up through 08/80 and was not sure why they would not fit say 81-83. Any ideas?

Yea they would fit..81-83 came with a “wagon” style wheel. Like the ones below.

Another cool wheel is the 70 series 16” wheel that will give you more tire options. While retaining the “stock” look.

Are you saying that an 16 inch OEM 70 series 42601-60262-03 will fit on a 60 series without issues?

I got that picture above off mud from I believe @HemiAlex to show the op they work. I’ve seen them in person on a few fj40’s and they look good!

Considering that the 60 and late 40 share parts from the knuckle out I’m guessing they work just fine.

When I wear out my BFG’s I’m gonna go with the 70 series wheels on my 45 troopy above…

I know you can buy aftermarket wheels but I like the looks of the factory wheel. It just looks right.
I kinda remember @Godwin had some of his 40? Or was it his 60?

I have the 16" 70 series steelies on my truck and they were a direct fit. Running 255/85/16s. My truck is a 1984

No spacers or anything. Stock axles.

I have a set on my 60 but my axles have deviated from stock. Front with Tundra brake mod and rear an 80 series FF. 70 series wheels fit without issue or need for spacers. These were powder coated a dark color

before I bought them.
