Odd question, I was considering 4 kits, But two would be for the rear seats, Has anyone installed any in the second row seats? I realize that the seats fold forward, But that can be worked around, If my math is correct, My question would be more for how to install in the seats themselves.
Thoughts?
Please keep us in the loop.
Thanks

I think the 9" wide is more than adequate. They put out plenty of heat (for me at least) on the low setting. I only use high to get them warmed up.

Here is a writeup I did on the installation that may have some of the pics you are looking for.

Im in if this gets worked out. Please excuse my ignorance, but how does this setup compare to Slee's?

Mot I found the OEM toyota part numbers for the heated seats. Have you seen any with them? I'm trying to figure out if there is a seperate harness, etc for them

Hey.(Do I put a period or comma or ... :hillbilly:)

What do you mean "Have you seen any with them?"
You mean any 80's with them switches in them or ...
I've just picked up the switches for the 80 with the horizontal orientation today (I'll snap and post pics tomorrow), but those go on the center console fridge coin holder slots, whereas the vertical ones go on the console w/o the fridge. If that makes any sense/difference.

HTH's, but let me know if I can clarify anything further!

Mot :)

Thanks for waiting!

:flipoff2:

Not that anybody asked for it or has been holding their breaths, but I've picked up the "horizontal" switches today.

So here they are for you to see...

And some more pics, showing the pig tail and the side where it "clicks" onto the slot to secure (another one on the other side, of course).

Those switches are sweeet mot, thinking it could moded to work with the kit?

I need to quit talking to myself. :flipoff2::hillbilly:

They came standard on the "cold climate" package models, along with bigger-capacity batteries, radiator shutter, etc... ;)

I would be interested in the heater at that price.

Several kits actually.

9 is the width of the kits I have been looking at anyway.

I would be interested in the same: two kits and horizontal switches.

Please send me a price and way to get the switches along with any contact info you might have from the heater vendor.

Thanks

I'm very interested too. Was planing on heat this winter but could not find a decently priced universal kit & all of their switches were lacking the stock look and functionality.

Questions though; are these heat pads plug and play or is their splicing and soldering involved? Is it possible to get Toyota heat pads? Also, any thoughts on steering wheel heat, i.e.motorcycle/snowmobile heated grips to be wired into the LH switch or on a seperate switch????
