A nice touch would also be to wire up mirror heat elements along with steering wheel heat on a five or ten minute timer connected with the drivers seat switch. I saw a write up on a Tacoma forum where a guy took his mirrors apart and glued on heated grip elements. Also, one of the signal mirror companies makes a universal mirror heat kit. Thoughts?

i had mentioned something similar a while back. I sold my old 97' isuzu trooper to get the 80. My isuzu had nice big power folding and heated mirrors. In the S.E. it was used a lot; since most winter mornings i have ice on my mirrors.

Don't know if the overseas market had heated mirrors or not that we could swap in?

At least in Japan no mirror heater was available for the 80.

It appears that for the 100 some models/options there were both "cold climate" package and the "with heater" mirrors (Don't know what the "cold climate" consists of if it does/doesn't have the heater!)
