Wanted Looking for 12 spline Locking Hubs

I have a 77 FJ40 I am rebuilding with Axles from a 71. I am missing one of the front locking hubs. I have searched the internet and have not been able to successfully find hubs for my axles. They are 12 spline. Any suggestions?

Those are 6 spline axles.

I just picked up a good pair of 6 spline that you can have for cheap.

You will regret using those in your 77. Much better to rebuild/replace with the better setup with more splines.

Can I rebuild with new axles, or do I need to replace the whole differential?

I'm not sure what the spline is on the spider gears but I'm sure someone can tell you right off. One of our vendors will know for sure. You could just use updated spider gears and axles. The hubs are still available for them and they are much stronger.

6 spline hubs are easy to find and cheap. I wouldn't go digging in and changing your axles without giving some thought to it. Will your driving/wheeling style even require the fine spline axles?

Splangy, thanks for the post. My driving style will probably not warrant the change. It will be an occasional week end driver, and possibly on the beach. No more crawling in my near future. I had a FJ40 in high school, sold, and have always wanted another. This will be an old man mobile.

I have every thing you need. Just removed the hubs today and have the complete coarse spline axels. Like the guys said cheap plus shipping, and I need some time to remove
