The part that surprised me the most was the fact that my 100 series seemed to corner a lot better with the lift on it. I thought that since I was raising the truck, it would be tippy or so. I also like how soft the springs are. When I go over speed bumps, it rides smooth. My MPG's seem better but maybe I'm imagining things. I went through the first 1/4 line of the gas, and I traveled almost 40 miles.
 
It is good to hear that the ride is better than stock. I am a bit surprised, but love it anyway. I am thinking that when our shocks reach their end of life I am going to go with the OME lift and shocks. Just put on some 285/75R16 tires on and boy do they fill the wheel wells! The lift would be nice right now, but for some reason ($$) I can't convince the wife. I am looking forward to how you like it off road.

I had problems getting the $$$$ for the whole lift kit too. That's why I only bought the rear springs and got the torsion bars cranked up. I spent about $350 for everything, and that includes alignment, balancing and rotation for the tires, and having the torsion bars cranked. I think it was reasonable, I wish they made a lift kit that was 3" or 4" though so we could run bigger tires. MAybe one where they drop the entire front end like they do for the Tacomas.
 
One thing i noticed that changed was wheel lift in the rear. With no bumper those 866's are tough to compress them enough to actually articulate 100%. I actually (when i go wheeling on trails, or harder stuff) i throw some junk in the truck and that helps keep it balanced. Even the arb makes the front dive down and produce wheel lift more often.

yea thats true. The 866's provide a lot of lift for the rear. The guy at wheel works said that there is no way that he could level the truck with the stock torsion bars. I told him to at least try it, he did, and it worked. Did you ever consider changing to OME torsion bars?

Yes and No.

Reasons:

OME-

Positive- level it out, more support upfront for the ARB and winches.
Negatives- Articulation will be harder (thicker diameter torsion bar will be just like those springs, hard to flex 100%, No so much with a aftermarket bumper) )

Stock Torsion Bars-

Postive- stock ride, articulations very good (flexes with no fighting),

Negatives- cant level, arb drags the front down a little, cant add a winch without loosing a massive amount of lift.

Ill switch when I get the money. Right now im on lock down (economy :censor: sucks). I ordered them from a shop (not 4wp!) and then drove to the store and was observing the ride and nose dive on harder braking and how they handle pot holes and fast lane changes. They felt perfectly stable and could support the front end. So i called back and canceled my order. So today, I'm not going to order them. Tommorow? probably not. Next year? sure, when I get a winch.

LJ- Any CV leakage going on?

I know how you feel. I want either the ARB or bump it offroad bumper but $$$$$ is tight for me right now:censor: I'm hoping SLEE releases the bumper that was on the blue SAS 100 series
 
My cv's are leaking, a dilemma that all lifted 100's seems to face. Leaking is stopped for now, should I consider replacing the OEM clamps on my cv boots? and anyone wna upgrade to the new safari snorkel and sell me their old one? haha
 
Planned upgrades sometime in 2010:
-Diff Drop
-OME Torsion bars
-Mickey Thompson Classic Wheels
-Snorkel
 
fender flares(I expect a lot of negative criticism) , sneak peak at the start of 2010: flaming is allowed=)

My guess is your CV's are leaking because you cranked the front bars up but didn't install the diff drop yet. If you notice on Slee's site they include a diff drop kit with all their lift kits for the 100, and highly recommend it.

yes, Im planning to do that, I'm jus waiting on if my get my tundra steelies or not so that I can do more painting at one time
