How many plugs and gears are in each side?

I want to get some spares, but haven't taken a look at my cruiser y et.

There are two caps & two gears per side, but odds are good you don't need all of that, usually 2 of each is all you will need to get both sides working again, but really depends on how bad off yours are. Only way to know for sure is to pull the seat and tear it down.. 30-45 minute deal.
 
I'll go check your website now. I just brought my new LX450 home last night. Driver side plug is missing but the passenger side is still there! Easy!
 
Quick question. My seats dont move in any direction at all. I can hear the motor when i push the lever in various directions, but nada as far as movement, just a little nudge and thats it. I assume from what I have read so far that these are only for front/back movement? Do you sell anything else that might be able to repair the up/down movement?

More than likely these caps & gears will get your front/back movement back in business. I am really not sure what controls the tilt up/down, that is much less common and nothing I've messed with so far, sorry. I would suggest Cruiserparts.net for that, and suspect James has encountered a seat that won't move up & down before and would know exactly what you need, and probably have one. I played around with it a bit today and the up/down is sort of working. The electric contacts within the switch seem to be finiky for some reason. Going to take them apart, clean, and reassemble when i do the caps/gears. Hopefully that'll do the trick.
 
Received my seat gears/caps a few days ago and both seats are 100% functional again. Thanks nakman!!
 
Hello Nakman.

I have been reading the FAQ section and searching the forums for hours now and finally ended up here.

Well my little brother kicked the right front passenger seat, and now it is just stuck all the way to the front and people barely fit on that seat now and it will not move. You can hear the little motor trying to move it but its completely stuck.

I have not removed the seat or checked it much... But i was hoping in your opinion if you could help me out and lead me the correct solution. Do you think if i get new gears and what you are selling it would fix my problem? do you think him kicked the back of the seat really hard could have damaged those parts or am i looking at a completely different problem?

Should I remove the Seat and try and find out if the plastic thing is what is causing all this problem?

Your help is appreciated...
 
Best way to find out for sure is remove the seat, flip it over, and tear into it. You can download some instructions from my web site.. yes it's definitely possible that if your gears were nearing their end, one good kick could have pushed them over the line, you'll know for sure when you remove those gear boxes and examine the gears. Also it would be worse if one of your white caps was missing.. as the worm gear on the shaft would have had more room to shift more.

It's free to pull your seat and see what's going on.. if you wanted to get some spare caps and/or gears beforehand that's up to you, if you wait it only takes 3 days to get them once you order. These still available . Passenger seat goes forward but she ain't backing that thing up..

My passenger seat is forward and stuck. I sell real estate not wrench on Cruisers!
How/where do I get some input on where to look to see how to install the lil white cap which I discovered in the floorboard?
I want to know if I have to remove seat to diagnose if your product(s) would fix.
