Little white FZJ80 front seat plugs/caps

Don't throw that cap away, you need it. You need to remove the passenger seat to put it back- it's currently up against your transmission hump in the center of the truck. 14mm bolts, 2 front and back, once you get those out tip the seat back and unplug the wiring harness underneath, then you can remove the seat. If all you're missing is the cap it's possible you can just tip the seat back to reinstall it, but you're still removing the 4 bolts and probably should also unhook the harness. If you need to go in deeper, check out the instructions on my web site.

Hi nakman, I been searching for the caps everywhere to no avail until I found this thread. I just purchased a set from your website, thanks!

Little white FZJ80 front seat plugs/caps - now with gears!!

Ok, if you have been following this thread https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/67809-broken-seat-missing-cap-issue.html then this is the day you've been waiting for. Last round of prototyping appears to be a complete success, so I'm going to be purchasing a number of these this weekend and am happy to sell them to you now.

Price: $6 for 1, $10 for 2. That includes the shipping to get them to you (unless there's an ocean to cross)

gear update 09/28/08: Gears are now available, $20 for 2.

What is it: This is the little white threaded thing that may have fallen out of one or both of your front seats, making is so they don't slide under power any more. Also the little gear that strips when your white cap falls out, and you try to adjust the seat anyway. I'll put one pic of each below, there are more pictures in the thread referenced above.

What it isn't: The end-all, cure-all, of all your power seat, Land Cruiser, and personal relationship problems. If you've been running w/o this little cap for some time you may have stripped your gear, so check out the gear swap thread for detailed pictures and all the explanation you need to see what yours look like.

My guarantee: If you don't like them, they don't work for you, or you change your mind, send them back within one week after you receive them and I'll refund your paypal money once I have them back. Like I mentioned in the thread, this is not how I'll be funding my child's college education, so +/- a few bucks isn't live or die here.. but I have the means to provide you with these little caps so I'm happy to do so. So if you want a set, send me your money.

How to buy: paypal your cash to sales@gamiviti.com, this is my little corporation I set up. ;) If your shipping address is different from your PP address, specify that, otherwise that's what I'll use. No need to post up a bunch of "I'll take 1" posts unless you really want to, just tell me what you want when you send your $$.

But do feel free to post up here your feedback on how these little buggers work, and I do hope they work for most of you and make your power seats function again. Thank you again for your patience getting these to production.

Quick question, got a problem with both seats but was able to get the driver seat to go back by pushing the metal part inside back with my finger because the plastic plug is missing. I already ordered new plugs on your website but on my passenger side, the plug is in place. I was told I need to remove and reinstall it to work but I could not find a way to remove it. How can this be done? Does the entire seat need to be removed first? TIA

Yes, the right front seat needs to be removed to work on the gear assembly as it is oriented to the left (same as the left front seat).

So I may be missing something, but why can't the original stripped threaded caps just be glued in place?

Some people have drilled a hole through the assembly and plug (with the plug at the correct depth) then inserted a cotter pin or a short screw into the hole to keep the plug in place.

I have a 97 LX450 and unable to adjust the drivers seat which is drivers seat is up all the way up to the steering... no one else can drive. passenger seat also cannot be adjusted. Do you still have Little white FZJ80 front seat plugs/caps - with gears!! If you still do I need to purchase for both seats. Thanks!!

To the delight of my doubting wife, the passenger seat is fixed!!!! Thank you so much Gamiviti for selling the replacement gears!!! I did ruin the first gear. I forgot to hold down the shaft bolt while tightening the nut!! Oh well, I had the spare. The driver side seat still had the original cap so I left it alone. The passenger side end cap was missing which is why the gear eventually stripped. I can't imagine having to pay a Toyota dealer $2000 to fix this.

I hope you are still making these. I just placed an order today through your website.
