I took the necessary paperwork down to the DOL to get both the LV and Troopy licensed and registered. A few fun things popped up while doing so.
first- In washington state you have to weigh the vehicle or show documentation of what the vehicle weighs. They are now taxing us on vehicle weight on top of everything else. So a little side stepping and surfing on the mobile I found what I needed at http://root45.com . I then had to sign an affidavit stating to the best of my knowledge that is what the vehicle weighed. 4070lbs. It took them about 15 minutes to finally agree that is what they weighed. So here is the kicker. They tax you $10 if the vehicle is 4000lbs or less and add $10.00 for each 4000lbs the vehicles weighs. So 20 bucks each..for the amount of time it took it really wasn't worth it...20 bucks yippie...charge me 50.00 and give me my lv registration.....
second- The title I received on the LV is the original issue title for the state of Nevada. I was very sad that I would be having to re-title it and thus losing a cool piece of history for the LV. I asked the kind lady what happens to the titles. She said they are copied and then destroyed at the capital. I shrieked in horror. I asked her if I could keep the original title and she said let me check.
I turns out in the state of Washington you can keep the title if it has historical signifigance. She had to copy it..notorize the copy.. and write a small void on the 1967 title...but it is mine.
Just a public 45 announcement to others who may go down this same road.
