My plan is purely budget driven and it's to go to 37's if the 315's and 4.10 are not up to it. The marks gears sound great but at $2k for just the gears then easily $1500 install it's too much.

Assuming I have to re-gear regardless because of the 4.56 gears currently installed, the cost is going to be incurred whichever way I go.

The 3.73 gears from marks are about 1100 AUD a set, but the 3.54 are abut 1800 a set..not sure why the price variance...maybe the italian manufacture of the 3.54 costs more. I do have a used set of 4.10 which cost nothing. 37's do cost more than 315's and increases my chances of snapping axles.

All true.

I'm a light footed wheeler so not worried about beaking things. I also have longs in the front.

Honestly with all the mods you have if you want to stay 315's I would go 3.54 gears. Nice low cruise rpm and the power to pull out of low rpm on the hwy if needed.

You don't think that will be too low with 315's or true 35's? I should probably run the numbers to see were the RPM would be at various speeds and gears. I was thinking the 3.73's maybe the best solution...Calc required

Calc have been done it depends on your target speed

Edit for more input:
The engine will do 2500rpm comfortably all day long. But the harmonics and noise are awfull. My old dodge had 3.55 gears and 33" tires. Driving for work 4-6 hours at a time my ears would be ringing. I'd be pushing 80-85. I got that at 70 in the cruiser. That was not acceptable to me.

With the 3.54 I have plenty of power can drive at 70 with less noise. It's more pleasurable with a boost in mpg with my driving habits. If your in the mountains pulling passes all the time keep 4.10. If your cruising get deeper. Even my dad's 2005 dodge with 3.73 starts screaming after 75. These engines are just happy at 1800-2100rpm

For the split case crowd I would suggest Mark's TC gears. Reduce the high range and increase low range at the same time.

I would go to bigger tires. Why not? You have a bad ass rig/motor just add to it :)

Had 20min the other night and compared the 1st Gen cummins engine mounts I got on rock auto with the Toyota ones. They are almost identical stud spacing thickness and overall size. So they should work great.

That's an important part of the puzzle solved and at a budget price as well!

If your rolling with an h1c it's time to upgrade....

Looks like I just got a he351cw, going to take a bit of work to get it in but I'm starting from scratch with down pipe and intercooler anyways. Only concern is down pipe clearance to firewall.

this is what I am going to use with my he351cw. I have the part # somewhere. It's a 4 inch outlet so no flow restrictions
