It's attached/secured by these knobs.

Anyway, my goal is to get shorter legs for the rack so I can have the rack as close to the roof as possible for low COG, but have not decided how I want to achieve that.

There are two legs that are offered by the rack company; one's a little shorter and the other one's just a hair too short. I'm toying with the idea of putting some sort of spacers between the mounting legs and the rack where they attach, but not sure if the structural integrity would be compromised...

OK, I'll try to refrain myself from posting unless I come up with something cool. :flipoff2:

Thanks!

It's one of my favorite racks (Noselda) made by my favorite rack company in Japan (Aiba Works).

It's made of aluminum and it cam be completely disassembled.

Plus you can get a lot of attachments for sking/snowboarding, plus aux. lighting, etc...

They might not be as sturdy as ARB, but for someone looking for light/medium duty racks they are tough to beat. YMMV!

Here you can see their offerings.

And by clicking on the top rectangular link/box by each rack you can see the different sizes that you can get.

I like the Noselda II, Wagon (Low/Middle-heights: aerodynamic :hillbilly:), and the Flat (folding bars) models. As I've said, They're made of aluminum, except the legs/screws/bolts (stailness steel), and Noselda 1/Pro (Stainless steel).

Mine is II, but I've just re-assembled the Wagon model (medium height) that I'm going to mount to see which one I like better. The wagon is a bit shorter than the II I have, but would like to see how I like the front facia of it on the 80. I also am trying to decide if I want to stay with 3/4 length (160cm) or the full length (200cm) on either one of these models. I'm not sure if I'm willing to give up my sun roof, so I just might have to stay with 3/4 length. MAYBE!!

They've got mounting options for roof rails, as well as the FRP top 70 series.

And I've tried to talk them into letting me sell them, but they were not interested in selling them overseas.

Rack uprights

Nullifier,
What are the uprights on your rack system? Who makes them? Are they gas charged? In other words, do they have assist when lifting/lowering the upper rack? Ive been looking for something like this for a trailer build. Something that will help lift the tent up and allow access into the trailer bed when deployed.

Thanks ,
Jaxon

Thats a thule rack, I use to have one also. You have two height settings for the rack, low or high, so you can put things over your cab.
It is manual to slide it up and down. It would be hard to slide it up and down with to much weight on it.
Look at the black handles on the inside of the rack, thats what you flip out to release the rack to slide it up and down.

This is an expedition build thread, not a gay thread!

 Wow, Scott caught that! I just figured that bit out. I don't know what's funnier, that Mot posted that or Scott caught it. If I hadn't tried to figure out what was wrong with his pictures I never would've caught it. My gaydar must be off. (Bottom left in this pic..)

Now, let's get this thread back on track though and make nice posts. ;) I'll go with the idea that the guy in blue's likely blazed off his a$$ and his buddy is stopping him from falling down in the street and "saving him face". Not everything needs to be a bad thing, right!? :D

I like the other one with the two men better just because of the boy with a sling (and just noticed two other boys) staring at them. LOL!!

NCB, sharpen your gaydar gun skills! :hillbilly:

Anyway, I've posted this on another thread, but I've found this bracket that allows an aux light to be on, but was quickly pointed out that it would get ripped off by a friendly tree branch in a hurry.

Call it whatever you what. I`m not sure if Mot was making a joke out of that post or whatever. Can`t we just have something that doesn`t involve sex, straight or gay in it? There are young kids that get on here to look at threads of rigs also.

My rig as it stands today, just mounted the rack jerry can holders but don't know if it's the best spot for water or gas. I have 2 gas tanks in the vehicle and a water tank under the vehicle. The 2 cans up front can hold water or gas but don't really like the idea of gas in front or in the back of the vehicle. Looking for more ideas. The cruiser has a bed in it multiple cabinets a safe and a propane frige. Sand latters on top and a big storage compartment in front of the rack.

Very cool set up. What are the 4 tubes on the bumper for?

They are for fishing poles, but you could use them for other stuff as well, just haven't figured it out yet.

I have a few more things I have to do to it to make it just right. I need to water proof the engine distributor and maybe add a snorkel. It is a gas model and I really wish it was a diesel, but it's what I have to work with.

Thanks for the nice words about it.

;) Imagine that, a "pig" playing and getting all dirty. Nice circle tracks!

^ :( I miss Oregon (Christmas Valley, right?)..I should do something about that.

Actually it is on the right side.

:grinpimp: I get a lot of use out of that line...

You must be blind cause so is mine.

I should write a book on how to yank a bunch of like minded people into a thread! :D

Pics gentlemen, "Pics or it didn't happen!" :hillbilly:

Post up!
