Hard to show all our stuff, so here is a picturre with almost everything outside the car. Packed up we still have al the space to live inside ;-)
This was coming back from a 6 week trip, we also did 6 month trip just without the bikes ....

Loaded for a recent canoe trip to the put in. Most was unloaded once we arrived at the upstream bridge access point. I have drawers in the cargo area that the river gear is sitting on.

For a five day offroad trip, my passenger and I limited the interior of the ‘60 to his duffel filled with clothes, a small tote for snacks, a rollup tool bag, a large Yeti cooler, 2 small Igloo coolers, and a large Igloo water cooler. Everything else went up top in the Rhino Rack roof basket:
x2 camp chairs
x1 tent
x1 canvas tarp
x2 Dewalt tool boxes (1 for fluids & 1 for misc tools & spares)
x1 rucksack w/dry bag with my sleeping bag & pillow
x 2 sleeping pads
x1 Northface waterproof duffel for my clothes
x1 5.11 rucksack with my “camp kitchen”
x1 mil surplus camp shower
x1 flat-packed grill
x1 4 gallon rotopax with fuel

Singularly, only the Rotopax was heavy, but in aggregate the weight up top was noticeable. In hindsight and for future trips, ratchet straps will replace bungee cords. I slept inside, he used a tent. I’m not a “drawer-guy”, as I prefer duffels & ruck sacks in case I have to un-ass the vehicle & throw my stuff in someone else’s rig. I don’t think I’ll sleep in the back anymore though. Taking stuff out & then reconfiguring got old everyday. I’m looking at an Oztent. And I’m seeing the wisdom of a refrigerator...

I need to take some better pics. But this is my truck loaded for a week long trip. The cargo carrier is a great space for bedding, clothes and pillows, lighter stuff up top. I keep a lot of open space in the truck for fast food wrappers and passengers by putting light and bulky stuff up there. As an added bonus, I can climb in the tent and grab the sleeping bags and clothes without going back and forth to the cab.

I think the same picture(s) are in a couple other threads, please forgive my post-whore-ness!

@cody c what cargo carrier is that? I have a similar setup with the RTT and have often thought a hard shell carrier in front of it would work well
It's just a sport rack, picked it up for like $20 in the local buy/sell. It keeps the water out so I'm content

Cody C, if I'm not mistaken, that looks like a Steyr-Mannlicher?
Either way, what is the chambering mate.

Homer

Yes. A unicorn this one...

Left hand manlicher (full length) stock, I believe the barrel is somethings like 20.5" long, chambered in 9.3x62, it's a model M, and I bought it as a 30-06, and had an old gunsmith, Ron Smith rebore it with a "gain twist" rifling to 9.3x62. It has some sort of sako style quick detach rings, which pivot off the front mount, and 30mm rings. I'm quite fond of it, and it's knocked down a few animals quite nicely in the short time I've had it. The rear locking lugs make for a slightly more compact structure, as does the shorter barrel, it handles nicely in thick bush, but isn't as apt at being an open country rifle as some other calibers.

Sorry for the hijack. Back to topic, I did do some rear storage drawers, I need to apply some plywood to them and handles, once I get this stupid turbo working properly that will be on the list and I'll update some pictures.

G'Day Fella's,

Thanks for the heads up on this Cody c.
The left handed models, are even less common, so an extra special rifle.
What a perfect bush gun configuration and catridge!

I have an old Brno, ZKK-600 rifle (was 7x57, now 338-06), that I want to rebarrel to 9.3x62 and restock to a full length stock.
That may explain my interest.

Sorry also for the Hi-Jack.

Mmmmmmmmmm Donuts!

I've been overlanding with the Expedition Portal R.O.F. (retired old farts) group several times in the last 3 yrs which has helped me organize and trim down, if possible, unnecessary "baggage". But still, wow - I'm no minimalist...lol. For Baja beach camping, it's nice to have a water toy, so with my RTT I chose a inflatible kayak. Some pics in my organizing mode -

Tailgate view, aluminum homemade shelf attached to cargo barrier for milk crate bins. Puma compressor, mounted to fridge slide out is easily accessible for quick airing up after washboard like roads or traction needs. National Luna fridge/freezer & Trail Kitchen also convenient to get to:

2nd row seats removed makes room for more gear. Driver's side access - kayak, Alu Cab wall kit & stake bag, kayak gear bag & RTT ladder:

Passenger side access. Water Bricks, essential box, more milk crates storage, solar panel, Makita cordless driver:

Same view, more gear added - suitcase, some other tools & room for quick access needs. (delete RTT ladder - found a better place...lol) Foldable step is handy for many things including packing up the awning:

Kayak paddle. 2000W inverter mounted to cargo barrier seen in lower left & can see front view of gear in 3rd seat area. What appears to be a red jerry can is in fact a tool box. No more fuel cans carried inside since I got the Rotopax - whew!

I ratchet strap lawn chairs and my shovel/High Lift bag to the roof rack. Also have a Kinsman Rapid Deploy Camp Shower Stall ordered that will be shipped in early December to mount to the roof rack, if I can find some room...lol.
