Hmmm, that harness does look really good. This is a good opportunity to rewrap the harness with the firesleeve.
Can you describe the issue for us again? At what RPMs, inputs, etc. As you know, I had my 1994's VAF refurbished. Ran it for about 1000 miles before I started to get some idle RPM fluctuations. It happened a few times, no CEL so I swapped my known good VAF into it and ran it for a month without a single miss. My comms back and forth with BavRest are reassuring. They are providing me with troubleshooting assistance and I feel we are close to resolution. One thing of note, is the door spring tension between the two VAFs are different. In the known good VAF, the spring offers more resistance than the refurbed one. BavRest wants to tighten it up for me but only after I run the refurbed VAF for a little longer.
All that to say, I wonder if your issue would be solved with a new VAF. Anyone close by to help you out with that? If not, I'll see about the timeline to get my VAFs swapped and fixed etc and maybe I can send you mine for TS purposes.
