Reading your posts is like a weird LOST episode...
I read A LOt. And absorb fun stuff. I think that getting stuff done is important. Mud is fun and I choose to identify with the more ………. Fun that can hang. Can you hang?

Yes. I love this. I name your poet Laureate of my thread in perpetuity…unless you decline.

I have a tracking number for lockers, gears, compressor and install parts. Woohoo! Now I need to decide how to build this AUX circuit with the compressor, and room for a few electrical outlets. I'd like it all under the hood, but maybe it will go smoother in another place. I need to keep learning 12v systems.

I'm so damned confused. I blame @baldilocks and my own frayed neurons both. Maybe a 60/40 split? Anyway. Are you doing a York style onboard air system, or are you going with the previously mentioned compressor?

Ok, I've been doing some internet-ing and I think the most elegant mount for the ARB compressor is on the Wit's end QPM. I've known about these for a long time and I would buy one, but they are in production and have lots of hurtles as Wits deals with small vendors to do the manufacturing and powder coating. Sounds like the supply chain has made doing business super challenging for him, plus us Land Cruiser people are a demanding bunch of folks and are always needing our parts ASAP. So the QPM is out.

I dont have the compressor yet to physically try to do any mock ups. I've seen some of the mounting threads, but nothing is awesome. And I like awesome and clean. I will be using the twin for airing up so it's going to get a manifold as well, which increases its size. The rush to get everything done by the first week of April may be over. I had planned a spring break trip to southern UT with my family, but I think we may need to be closer to home. My dad's health is failing and I no longer feel comfortable being more than a day's drive away. So, far away vacations are on pause until further notice. This will likely impact my cruiser work updates, so please bear with me.

I'll keep you posted when my goods arrive and I start playing with locations.

Where did you source the ARB twin Compressor? They’re not cheap but they work and work well according to users, especially the 200 crowd. I’d like to get one but I have so much more to do before I embark on air stuff.

@cruiseroutfit had one/ some in stock so I just went for it. What's another $600 bucks?:slap: I have a nice 12 v compressor, but the twin is hard to argue with...plus its awesome looking....and I'm really into awesome lately. Unfortunately I didn't buy an air system manifold to utilize it. Now, if I understand correctly, I believe I need one to run the compressor for the lockers and OBA. So add an additional $85-90 for an ARB one, which is pretty slick and attaches nicely to the twin compressor if I understand the literature correctly (which I may not).

So to answer your question: Cruiser Outfitters. Again, great folks to work with.

Steve is trying to convince me to buy an Extreme Outback Magnum compressor, aptly named after the custom-made condoms I use. Have you looked into those? I'd say Steve is something of a pro.

I’d say I’m a farm kid who is rough around the edges and isn’t wasting time on weak Ass hay bailers and trips to the woods without bleeding and additional random damage. Life is short.

Amen. Life is meant to be lived.

I bet you could make a psuedo QPM out of some sheet metal, just enough mounting space for the ARB, and then remove that when the real QPM gets in :D

Hopefully things continue to improve for your dad 🫂

^^This. Life is short, figure out what you want to do and do it. If you cant figure it out, then thats the work you need to do.

Agreed. Ive seen the KOH clips. He is a role model of the Wheel it-->break it-->fix it-->wheel it some more camp. I deeply respect those that live that. Im just tryin to get to Starbucks when it rains.

I did look into those compressors, I just like the blue metal more, but I recognize that its probably pretty cheesy compared to a larger single 100% duty cycle compressor. If I can wear it out, I'll be proud of myself. If it sucks and breaks then I'll warranty it and get a new one. :meh:

I'll probably pretend that a vise, pliers, and and angle grinder means I can "fabricate", but I'm not sure. Everything is kind of on hold.
Thanks for the kind words. My dad won't recover, but hopefully he can be comfortable.

And between every Starbucks are three other coffee shops. First street is an eating and drinking kingdom but one I shall never return to.

People go out to eat? What is this crazy thing you speak of?!?

Great news my gear from Crusser Outfitters arrived. They sent a bunch of swag too, always nice. I'll happily rock my new t-shirt and toss those stickers on the tool box. Everything looks like it arrived intact and happy. Gear install kits are Sumo MIJ stuff. I was surprised to see that the gears shipped are Nitro. I know lots of people are pretty upset with Nitro right now, and there are some serious concerns about their durability, but I'm going to got for it and lean into the "wheel it, break it, fix it mind set." Nothing is scheduled yet, but my urgency to get the lockers and gears installed has downgraded with the needs emerging from my family. Oh well. This is supposed to be fun stuff, so no cruiser stress right now.
