Bulbs are all in! Ready to ship.

One caveat: I had read in the FSM that the glove box bulb was the same as the doors. This is not the case. I don't even think there is a LED bulb made that would fit in the glove box socket. Here are some pics:

Fuzz, PM me. I am shipping your kit out tomorrow morning.

Those door lights look massive.

Kit looks good. I found that the license plate lights are the same as the front personals. May have to order me a bag or two of lights to play around with. Do you still want to work with "project 96"? I may have some time to play around tonight. I'm on google talk tonight.

Here are some pics of the door install. Door lenses are tricky to take off. You have to use a small flathead screw driver on the top part and then "forcefully" pull the bottom part off.

DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU BREAKING YOUR AUTOMOBILE. USE CAUTION WHEN WORKING ON YOUR CAR NOT TO BREAK/CRACK/SCRATCH YOUR LENSES/LIGHTING COMPONENTS.

When placing the lenses back on, you may have to try a few different methods. At first I thought the LED bulbs were too long but after trying to place the door lens covers on without a bulb installed, I ran into the same difficulties. A firm pounding using the heel of your hand worked for me on 3 out of 4 of my lenses. With the last one I just pressed firmly on the lens while using my knee to keep the door from swinging further open.

Removing the OEM bulbs can be tricky if you have fat greasy fingers. I ended up using fast food napkins to reduce the slip factor. Remember; the LED bulbs are polarity sensitive so test them out before firmly seating the LED bulb.

I'd include license plate lights but that would just end up being "project sprawl". Going with what I got. Lets figure the 96 thing out later. I am not going to have any free time till we close on our house.

Looking good! Ready to send you some $$$ when my package is ready. Thanks again. I know how time consuming this must've been for you.

Sorry man, been a long day. PM sent, w/ request for your paypal address so I can send funds.

Nice shoes BTW. :flipoff2:

Great job on this. Thanks

LED DRL

great post! hope it existed when i was doing my LED interior mod.

however i have a different but similar problem, with my LED conversions for my DRL light (LX470). when i installed both the LEDs none of them will light up. if i leave one 9006 in on the passenger side and only change one to LED then the LED would light up and not the 9006. then when i swapped them (driver side LED and passenger side 9006) none of them light up. this is really strange!

anyone has similar situation or recommendations?

Appreciate any feedback...

GRunner - I think you'll need a resistor or flasher (maybe both if you are doing LED turn signals too) due to the voltage difference between the LED and non-led bulbs.

Looking forward to the heads up on the payment info and shipment dates! Thanks for your work on this!

Alright ladies and gents, as Paul mentioned, I recieved my kit in the mail yesterday but couldn't get to it until this evening due to work.

I have all of the bulbs installed, and I must say that for the money, I am impressed with the output. A few things worth noting:

1. I started at the front of the truck working my way back. When I got to the second row of lights, as I was installing third festoon bulb I heard a mild "pop". Then, no lights. The 10A fuse blew out. Threw in another 10A, blew instantly. I had no more 10A fuses, so I threw in a 15A - pop. Finally out of desparation (and out of a lack of any more small fuses that would fit), I threw in a 30A fuse and I also ditched that particular bulb thinking that it may have somehow been built incorrectly. I installed the spare festoon that Paul included, and that combined with the 30A fuse solved the issue. I intend to drop down to a 20A fuse to see if it works, as tripling the amount of max current through the wiring doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

2. I am noticing some color temperature variences among the bulbs. Some are more blue, some are more purple. No big deal for the money.

3. While they didn't seem very bright to me at dusk when I installed them, after dark it becomes quite clear that they do in fact put out a substantial amount of light - especially the larger 48-LED festoon bulbs. They flood most areas of the interior. The map lights aren't that bright, but then again they really aren't designed to be blinding since they point at your face.

4. On one of the door bulbs, I couldn't get the light to come on when pushed all the way in. It would flicker as it went in, but then went out when fully seated. To remedy this, I simply bent the contact wires on the base of the bulb out a little bit which solved the issue. I think that this problem was more a function of a loose door socket rather than a bulb issue.

5. Paul's packaging was impeccable - sets of bulbs were wrapped with enough padding to remain separate during shipping. The foam was secured with a rubber band and taped to ensure nothing got jostled around. Top notch job there, Paul.

All in all, I am confident that it was money well spent. I am a little bit worried about the fuses blowing, but the issue seems to be taken care of for now. I'd say send him your money and go to town - the extra light is quite nice.

Thanks for this, Paul. Great job.:beer::beer:
