Glad you got them in and working. Ill address your points in-line...

Alright ladies and gents, as Paul mentioned, I recieved my kit in the mail yesterday but couldn't get to it until this evening due to work.

I have all of the bulbs installed, and I must say that for the money, I am impressed with the output. A few things worth noting:

1. I started at the front of the truck working my way back. When I got to the second row of lights, as I was installing third festoon bulb I heard a mild "pop". Then, no lights. The 10A fuse blew out. Threw in another 10A, blew instantly. I had no more 10A fuses, so I threw in a 15A - pop. Finally out of desparation (and out of a lack of any more small fuses that would fit), I threw in a 30A fuse and I also ditched that particular bulb thinking that it may have somehow been built incorrectly. I installed the spare festoon that Paul included, and that combined with the 30A fuse solved the issue. I intend to drop down to a 20A fuse to see if it works, as tripling the amount of max current through the wiring doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

I had this happen also but it was because I was using a screwdriver and sweaty hands trying to get the old festoon bulb out and install the new LED one. Once I slowed down and made sure I was not shorting anything, it went issue-free. What light was it? On mine it was with the 2nd row personal (outside).

2. I am noticing some color temperature variences among the bulbs. Some are more blue, some are more purple. No big deal for the money.

There is a difference between the 48s and all other bulbs. This is clearly shown on post #1

3. While they didn't seem very bright to me at dusk when I installed them, after dark it becomes quite clear that they do in fact put out a substantial amount of light - especially the larger 48-LED festoon bulbs. They flood most areas of the interior. The map lights aren't that bright, but then again they really aren't designed to be blinding since they point at your face.

Do you mean the red map lights or the 10 LED map lights?

4. On one of the door bulbs, I couldn't get the light to come on when pushed all the way in. It would flicker as it went in, but then went out when fully seated. To remedy this, I simply bent the contact wires on the base of the bulb out a little bit which solved the issue. I think that this problem was more a function of a loose door socket rather than a bulb issue.

I expect this to be a common issue. You just have to bend the wires out a little.

5. Paul's packaging was impeccable - sets of bulbs were wrapped with enough padding to remain separate during shipping. The foam was secured with a rubber band and taped to ensure nothing got jostled around. Top notch job there, Paul.

Thanks!

All in all, I am confident that it was money well spent. I am a little bit worried about the fuses blowing, but the issue seems to be taken care of for now. I'd say send him your money and go to town - the extra light is quite nice.

Thanks for this, Paul. Great job.:beer::beer:

Once we get all of this cleared up I will start PM'ing people on the list and accepting payments.

All things considered I think these kits will work out just fine for most. Looking forward to my shipment. I'll be another test candidate if you want to put another trial pack in the mail.

Paul, the color variences I noticed were among the same style of bulbs. The two map lights (the ten led white ones) are slightly different, and the two second row side festoons are slightly different. I didn't use the red map light bulb because I have different plans for red lights overhead. I wouldn't point out color variences between different styles of bulbs since as you mentioned, you already pointed those out in the first post. Now, let me be clear when I say that the color variences are incredibly slight, and make no difference in overall output color when switched on. Most people probably wont even notice. Hell, I don't even notice after less than 24 hours. I went to the grocery store last night and was pleasently surprised when I opened the rear hatch and was greeted by so much extra output. However, I'd be doing all of you and Paul a disservice by not pointing these things out, no matter how minor they are.

I'm going to buy more fuses today and replace the 10A fuse now that everything is installed. Paul, it was the second row outer festoon, same as you. I'm sure it was my fault if you had the same issue. I was working in a hot car and I'm sure my hands were sweaty too. I will report back with any issues once I replace the fuse, but I'm not expecting any.

Loud, we will have to do a direct comparison. I don't remember off hand how bright yours were compared to these.

Which are brighter, the ones im zee vorvagon or yours?

Loud, what are you using in your maps?

194/168/T10 bulbs come in so many varying degrees of brightness and temps as well as design.

If you happen to have a kit left over, please let me know. Otherwise how can I get on the next list.

Added you. I had an issue with the second shipment as it appears to have been sent back to China (from NYC Customs) but I have been informed that there is a whole crew of 11 year old boys working 17 hour shifts trying to figure out what went wrong.

That is friggin hilarious right there! Can you add me for a second set, as well?

Thanks again!

11 year olds? Wow, they must have gotten management involved.

Public apology to Paul and everyone involved - due to work issues (and some exceedingly long hours the last few days), I have been basically stuck in a work-sleep-work-sleep cycle that has left me with little time to get this ironed out. Things are back to normal as of today, so I will make a concerted effort to get this handled by tomorrow. If all is well, I'm assuming that Paul can start accepting payments and getting the kits out on Friday/Saturday.

Sorry for the delay guys.

...these things are really damn bright, BTW. They actually scared my wife the first time she got in the car when it was dark out.

I got confused on whether I was on arfcom or 'mud when I read the last few posts. :hillbilly:
