Oppose to this, it took me 30 min to get out this. Kept going side ways. This was with part time conversion CDL locked, Trans on 2nd. Tried every setting known to man, finally gave up and shovel the snow around it. Down the street list control and skidded sideways onto on coming traffic. Not a cool feeling. After 20 years of driving in and out Mammoth, for the first time ever I felt I needed chains. That’s when I decided it was mistake to convert it part time and time to covert it back!! If anybody is interested I have my part time conversion parts for sale cheap!! Just an FYI, I did not see a significant gain in mpg. But steering was really nice with less torque steer with the part time conversion.

Want!
I dig WARN hubs

Whaaaaaaaaat. Really?

I don't know that Warn makes a hub application for the wider pattern of the 100 but they may get call for late model 7x stuff so perhaps?

I think we all agree keeping it full-time is the best decision for you ;)

For many others, they like the choice and handling options just like ever 4x/5x/6x/7x and many non-US 8x and 10x... ie the ability to choose when it is engaged.

Duh! only one cup I fixed it :frown:

We had a huge winter here in Utah and I loved having the PT on my 100. I spend a lot of time going into the mountains on a road that is snow packed for snowmobiles and with CDL engaged I've never had an issue. I throw chains on sometimes when it's really gnarly. To continue with the fun I just had the nanny kill switch installed that I think was posted somewhere in this thread but I'll add it again. It allows you to completely turn off the VSC and the TRAC and makes the PT conversion a lot more fun and functional.

VSC OFF switch install.

Thank you to Odyseuss for the write up

Im 110% happy with the way things are. Since PT nothing lights up and everything seems to work normal. You do need to apply the brakes slightly to disable A-trac for burnout though.

Additional note: Thanks to @hoser recomendation I went with 5° of caster the max I could get with SPC arms that combined with AHC it drives fantastic and effortlessly at triple digits.

The parts in bold are what I'm interested in. Only partly kidding, fun police can go away.

I haven't done the part time conversion (yet) but my LX is the only full time 4wd thing I've owned and I way prefer a part time 4wd vehicle in the snow. In lighter snow conditions I'd say I may even prefer a 2wd/rwd car over a full time 4wd SUV.

I recently installed the whole cv axle set that I got from Cruiser outfitters and it solved pretty much all of the clunking in my 01 100 series as well as a transgo valve body reprogramming and the truck runs great with motul trans and gear oil. Best thing I’ve done to her yet I highly recommend.

This would make sense as most people's 100s have worn out hub flanges. Even when most shops change the CV axles, they don't change the hub flange as well. This makes little sense to me as the hub flange is a fairly inexpensive part, but many people are only concerned about getting the lowest out the door cost. Their loss as a drive train that doesn't feel like it is about to fall apart rocks!

LandCruiserPhil is that a custom bumper or something I can find for purchase?

Runnerfan if you’re referring to the picture Kurt posted it is a Dissent Bumper with a bull bar. You can find them on this forum.

Also my two cents on this Mod since It is my 100 posted and I have been driving it all week. The Part time kit is probably one of the best things that has happened to this 100. I love the way it handles on pavement and on dirt . Of course its spring so I won’t have an impression on the snow and ice, but I don’t believe it will be an issue because if I need 4x4 I will lock the hubs because I can😝

My suggestion would be to potential find somebody that has done it, and drive it. Maybe not realistic, but if you ever run into me out and about and your interested in this I will let you test drive it.

A big shout out to Kurt, Bryce, and the gang at cruiser outfitters as they did wonderful job with the install and it was pleasure getting this done with them.

Thanks for the feedback and I'm happy you're happy with the mod.

I’m ready to order a part time kit for my 2000 LC. I don’t need the new axles, as I just replaced mine with OEMs. I’m not finding the kit on Cruiseroutfit’s website.....am I missing something? Ready to order now!
Thanks

I’ve found several places to order them on eBay out of Australia, but would much rather acquire from a mudder here in the states.
I emailed cruiser outfitters.... maybe I’ll hear back from them Monday.
Thanks
