Looks more mustard to me
basically free marketing, rewarding the best dealerships (they get the allotment), gets the crowd going, test colors/features/options for later on
not a bad idea
now if only they would offer a NA V6, manual trans, cloth seats, and no screens it'd be perfect!
I know I’m just saying it resembles mustard to meI think it's one of the colors from the Toyota logo.
And like the mythical brown, manual transmission, turbo diesel station wagon of auto journalists’ dreams, they would only sell 12 of them. We are enthusiasts. What some of us may want is not indicative of the market at large. People keep making the assumption that a lot of other people want what they want.now if only they would offer a NA V6, manual trans, cloth seats, and no screens it'd be perfect!
Not that extreme. I don't want brown or a diesel. And like the mythical brown, manual transmission, turbo diesel station wagon of auto journalists’ dreams, they would only sell 12 of them. We disagree about the size of that market. Not that extreme. I don't want brown or a diesel.
There is a market for a stripped down, cheaper, easy to work on, less frills, no turbo or hybrid off roader from Toyota
so overstyled and complex body work

far too much plastic
front end is way too tall....whats up with those giant square pieces below the headlights?
I'm sure its a fine vehicle relative to the nonsense made in 2023. good on them.
But why do what everyone else is doing 'in this segment'?
The 'hate' stems from them not doing better when they had a billion dollars and a blank slate....and planned to put a 'Cruiser' name on it
taylor swift sells a lot of concert tickets, but that doesn't make it 'good'
The reason they didn't go "down market" with the LC is multi-faceted, two primary points I can think of.I never mentioned the market size
how many broncos and wranglers (albeit far to complicated and expensive in their own ways) are sold every year?
They already have the updated 4runner coming....already have the sequioa.....why not go a bit more down market?
sell 10-20k models a year?
Mark up of the 250…The reason they didn't go "down market" with the LC is multi-faceted, two primary points I can think of.
1) The gen6 4Runner is going to shrink, use the same hybrid system, and put a spanking on the Bronco. They will also keep the current 4Runner pricing, so the top of the line 4R is the same mid $50K as the "base" 1958 LC.
2) car prices have increased so much since 2019 that $60k is the new $40K. Between inflation and horrible predatory dealer mark-ups the US auto industry is in a really s***ty place. Just reading the other thread on ordering some people have listed that dealers want a deposit and state a $7500 "ADM".
Why people keep buying new cars with interest rates the way they are and the "rape the consumer" mindset of dealer is beyond me.
