Late model gas tank straps

I have a 1980 FJ40 and am in need of replacing the gas tank straps on my tank. From my search I believe they are no longer available. I am looking to make my own, and was hoping someone would be able to post some pictures and dimensions of the stock straps.

I can get that for you tomorrow. Do you have the mounting brackets and pins? The brackets will give you the width.

Did you try posting a want ad? Used ones are around...unless you prefer reinventing the wheel.

Thanks for your help. Yes I have the mounting brackets and pins, but the straps were rusting so bad when I got it the tank was just hanging. I don't mind making new straps but would like to have some idea on what stock lengths were.

Center of pin to where it makes a 90 degree bend on the other end. I get 39" for the thick side of the tank & 33" for the thin side of tank. That will be close but not perfect, it's hard to measure under there. Here's a few pics. The 90 degree end is built strong & breaced to keep shape.
