I am in need of some stronger rear lower controls arms. I bent one so bad on my last trail outing it's rubbing the sway bar. I have about 2" of lift so no need for adjustable arms. I don't have a welder, press or have any easy help with a welder so not looking to fab anything or beef up my factory arms though I realize that is an option. I just think in my situation, bolting up a set of beefy arms is the best option I have. With all that said, I'm looking at Landtank and Delta arms. The Deltas def look to be beefier with square DOM tube vs Lanktank being round rod. The Landtank arms are a couple hundred cheeper and come painted. Deltas come bare. I do have the ability to apply spray paint. Has anyone with Landtank arms bent one? Anyone with Deltas had any issues? Thanks for any thoughts or any bolt-on options I haven't come across! Pics are from last outing for fun!

Hey Neighbor, I have a 12k Press and a welder....

I have also ran the metal tech and they were nice, have heim joint, mine seemed to losses them selves at the jam nut. Other then that very solid

What's your time line? I'm out of town for the next two weekends. But I have the week of Thanksgiving off. And I like beer & Scotch & Bourbon...LOL
You know where I am, see how long it will take to get here. There are a couple of motels in the area if you need to spend the night. That give you time to order up some DOM tube as well.

Delta never released their rear lower control arms as far as I know. I believe @cruisin2camp aka solvefunction has them on his 80 because he tests alot of the delta products from what I’ve seen. I’ve been bugging delta about these arms for probably over a year but I never saw them ready to purchase on the site.

These are the ones I’m looking at.

I’m hoping to get back to Uwharrie by Thanksgiving weekend for a camping trip. Looks like I’ll need to get something before then. I do appreciate the offer though and maybe later on you can help me with a rear bumper/crossmember project I have in mind.

Neither. Completely ripping people off.

Measure then just order some Johnny joints and 7075 aluminum from TK1 racing

If you are going to choose between DVS and Landtank. The DVS lowers are exponentially stronger due to the physics of tubing, 8x in some cases.

a lot of talk about my links that I disagree with on a technical level. But I’ll just point out no one who actually owns and uses my links has posted that they failed.

I’ve sold a lot of these for 80s and 100 series trucks and shipped them all over the country.

Can you build a stronger link? Absolutely, but if a cheaper link is strong enough what’s the point of making it.

FWIW, I have the Landtank lowers originally purchased through Wits End. They've been on for many years now. No paint left on the underside anymore and they're still straight.
I also don't buy into any adjustable parts that keep the axles under the truck. I've seen them come apart on the trail and it makes a mess.

Thanks for chiming in! With yours being solid versus tube, do they tend to bend but spring back into shape? Could you add a bit more detail on how and why they are built the way they are? I can totally get down with the idea of strong enough at a lower price! Thanks!

Great feedback, thanks!

Are you using 2” 4340?

I went on line and found a site that calculated deflection on tubing.

I had already made lower links in.25 DOM and bent those

Running the numbers on that site made it clear that solid rod was the way to go

Add to that solid rod is cheaper. The over sized ends I put on help with protecting the frame and axle mounts as well as strengthening the weld joints at the ends.

I like the round stock over square. The LCAs are basically a slider and my thought is that the contact patch resting on a rock would likely be smaller than it it was flat

I went with the Land Tank lower arms with zero issues, the only downside, I would say is the longer arms are causing the 37' to rub on my Delta rear bumper... Go figure. I don't know it's an issue but my springs also look like they are slightly misaligned because of the extended arms. Not sure there is any issue with this, and no handling issues, it just bugs me.
