Engine, trans, and transfer case all mounted. I'll be able to use the stock chevy exhaust manifolds, just had to re route the fuel lines and coolant hoses for the rear heater. I cut and flared the fuel tubes right above the crossmember, plan on routing the fuel hoses over the back of the transmission. Hopefully it will be running within the next couple weeks.

All the wiring is pretty much done. The original radiator is in the shop right now getting cleaned and a couple leaks on the top tank fixed. All of the wiring went pretty good, I bought a painless performance fuse block, 7 circuit, 3 constant power, 4 switched power. I am wiring all of the chevy off of this fuse block, trying to keep the two systems (chevy and toyota) diveded. Kept the chevy fuel pump relay and wired it straight to my in tank toyota pump. One question I do have is the wiring of the VSS. I bought the JTR two wire speed sensor, I swear I just read a thread on how to wire it correctly but I can not find it. I've been searching this for a couple days now, been asking friends, and not really getting anywhere. The only thing I havent done yet is call Howell EFI, but I thought I'd ask you guys first. The Way I think it should be is, switched power to one wire, the other wire to ECM pin A10, and it is a self grounding sensor. This is the only way it made sense to me, I found another thread where it was wired from A10 to sensor, and out of sensor to ground. That just doesn't make sense to me, so PLEASE someone let me know the right way to wire this VSS, I know you guys know. Thanks in advance. Progress pics.

IT'S ALIVE!!! Got it started a couple days ago, put my tires on it, really happy with the way it sits. Mounted the ECM behind the glove box, had to shorten the glove box to make room for the harness and computer. I'm using all of the stock gauges, check engine light, and charge light. Also did the tach mod and got it adjusted. Also using the stock transmission and t case shifters, so it all looks stock sitting in it.

Power steering cooler, transmission cooler, and I'm using the stock transmission cooler for the engine oil cooler. Modified the stock fan shroud, new 18" fan and clutch. Stock shifters and made the linkage, Painless NSS. Made my front drive shaft with the Chevy CV, Toyota tube and slip yoke. Need to order a flange for the rear shaft and get the exhaust done.

Very nice job on that fan shroud... :)

Exiting... go over everything with a fine tooth comb before first drive.

Just the piece of mind that a stock 14B will be stronger then the strongest toyota axle :)

It's all back together and looks like a cruiser again. Been doing some front yard wheelin and found my front tires rub like a mo. I'm brainstorming for the rubbage fix, I have a couple of ideas in mind. Got the rear DS done, had a local shop build the driveline and they made the 205 flange, they did an awesome job as they always do! PARADISE DRIVELINE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Going in Tuesday for the exhaust then it will be road worthy, I plan on driving it around town for a while then taking it up to the hills.

Had the exhaust done and I've been driving it around, it's pretty nice pushing down on the throttle and actually getting a response. It drives pretty good, I just have one little problem so far. When I let off the throttle, like when I come up to a stop sign, the engine wants to die. It seems worse when it warms up all the way, I can also get it to sputter and stumble in the driveway in park sometimes when I let off the throttle. But when in gear and the engine warmed up all the way, every time I let off the throttle it wants to die.

Troubleshooting thus far:
-Triple checked fuel pressure, solid 14 PSI even when stumbling.
-Checked timing, dead on.
-Tested MAP sensor, tests ok.
-Replaced idle air control valve, the old one had a lot of play in it.
-Tested O2 sensor, tests ok.
-Disconnected EGR vacuum line, plugged it, and drove it. No change, still wants to die when I let off the throttle.

I'm trying to think what would cause this and right now, I'm stumped, any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! It's a 1991 Chevy 5.7 TBI, all smog components in place, 700R4 trans. Thanks and here's some more pics.

I've been driving it around for a few weeks now with very little problems. I had to fix a transmission leak and adjust the t case linkage. I love driving it, perfect amount of power shifts good, but i still have a front tire rubbage issue. So it's time to adress this problem....
