Need a bit of advice.
Trying to get the suspension bolts out not moving at all. Getting new springs so should I be done with it and cut the bolts off or try and save them?

Jasferg,

I wouldn't reuse the bolts or rubber bushings, even if you get them out undamaged. They're rusted up and of no value. They can be a bear to get out, do whatever it takes.

That's OK will get a new stronger shaft for it, , hopefully last longer.

the easiest fix is to get a rear 60 series driveshaft shortened and throw that in it'll be long enough and there's plenty around in NZ, if the bolt pattern on the flange is different pull the U/J out and swap the flanges over from your old driveshaft :)

there's a restored 55 down here in wellington haven't seen it around for a while but I think hes still got it he put an LS1 chev in it

Thanks for the info will look into that as a new drive shaft option. It's good to see there is still the odd 55 out there

The body and chassis are now officially separated went better than I thought! they both just fit into the garage which is awesome. Don't know about you guys but I think the rear drive shaft has a bit of run out....have to do investigation on that one.

On to the next job, strip the chassis.

Did you cut yourself under the gearbox?

Nevermind, just read the thread instead of looking at pictures and noticed the auto box.

Off down the line tomorrow for a parts wagon. Hopefully got some good parts. Thinking it's a early one looking at the grill.

Got some good parts that I needed. Fuel tank, filler neck sway bar and heating system. Decided to grab the front grill as well.
There was an interesting thing in the back, two fold away seats they looked stock. Was that an option from toyota? Looked cool, decided not to take them.
Was a real rusty wagon tried to open rear side door just about pulled the whole side of the vehicle off.

Im assuming they must have been jump seats. I've heard about them in pigs, but never seen. I know there kinda popular with the FJ40 crowd.

BTW. Nice finds!

Did you happen to get a picture of those seats? Sounds cool!
I wonder what that paint scheme was on the Pig, The Ultimate something...

Sorry didn't get any photos, should of but was head down arse up trying to get the fuel tank out. Might get other parts off it but is a 4 hour drive to get there.
Was called "ultimate game" figured it's a deer/pig hunting wagon. Sadly to far gone

Good to hear from you though! I looked back at that picture you posted and noticed the early grille w/ marker lights built in. That would be native to '68/69/70 I believe.
Worth your time if you ever go back.
Pig hunting wagon?!? That would not be right... :-)
