The shocks look great, keep us posted on their performance. They sure are pretty!

OK, I've had a chance to drive a little more on them and I am extremely happy with how they feel.

For those in So Cal, on the downhill section of the 405 between the 101 and 10, it feels much more planted. It is a very narrow lane that undulates and winds down the Sepulveda Pass. Before, driving 70+ in the super-narrow carpool lane with all the undulations and curves was a white knuckle experience...now it is a lot less dramatic...the truck is MUCH more buttoned down.

I haven't had a chance to wheel it yet, but on rough, broken pavement (Pico blvd. near the 405) the previous harshness is gone.

The best way I can describe the effect of the shocks is that all the corners of the bumps are rounded off and the suspension feels much more supple initially, yet much more firm and controlled beyond the first couple of inches of suspension travel. I REALLY like it.

This is my first foray into high-end shocks on a truck, but I've had double adjustable custom shocks on BMW's and these Kings make as big a difference as those did, maybe more.

I'm extremely satisfied and suspect that they will feel even better once I start increasing the compression damping and get everything dialed in.

What shocks did you have before the kings?

My experience with the king coilovers was phanominal, I'm hoping my next shocks will be the kings. Seems I bum at least one ome long travel a year. Didn't think they had an 80 setup .

What SKU # for the TJM coils?
I have OME heavy 2.5'' lift but on my last trip the rear was bottomning out fully loaded and the inside fender started chewing my MTs as they didnt fit inside well with spacers.

I would love to upgrade to this setup with progressive springs and Kings shocks.

It was 75 degrees and sunny in L.A. today. LOL...although in all seriousness, I will be getting rear shock boots.

I don't have the sku handy, but I'm running the 50mm progressive spring. Not the 3" heavy coils. If you're bottoming the OME heavies you may need a bit more spring than the progressive coils. However, progressive fronts with a 1" spacer or so matched with heavy rear 3" springs might make a good combo as far as ride quality goes.

i was on my 3rd set of ome and i just said enough with it and ordered up some KINGS

if you live in an area with inclement weather, make sure you get the stainless steel shafts.....i ordered mine with custom lengths which added to the cost....but hopefully will be worth it!

If you're going to order them get them with the adjusters. King makes really nice stuff, now we just need them to make a double bypass for the 80 :steer:

nice shock and price too. i am glad they ride great. now for some tech for this thread.

valving:

are these shelf pull offs or did they valve them for your 80? did you corner weight your rig? or did you have them valved after you got them?

i am on the same path but i havent gotten there yet. i have a shock tuner i use but wanted to try to save that money if i can find the right valving that someone else used so i can do that myself.

valving depends on the spring rate as well so can't just go by off the shelf units...some might be happy with just having KINGS and some want the absolute fine tuning.....using their bums and 6th sense.

not sure what your point is. are you saying its irrelevant in a shock thread to talk about valving? hahahahahaha so much for something interesting to read in this thread
