I have the maprika app, but haven't used it yet. I'm sure we will muddle through. I will bring 4 walkies I've used for hunting for comms, they are all tuned to a private frequency.

Oh, and that maprika app is pretty cool! It froze on me about 3 times though. It kept right on plotting our course even when frozen.

I'm jealous, I spent my day loading a 26 ft truck with NOS Honda motorcycle parts. It was cold!

I would have much rather been at Rausch. I love that section where you shot the videos!

I may have to try Maprika next time I'm on the trails.

You know that's a good day, when it's worth dragging home!

Caz, did you drive your Taco, or ride with VBR?

I rode with Vince. Taco is out of inspection... Needs some exhaust work.

I love trails 19b and 23. We got more than we bargained for on 18b. Lots of leans into banks with trees and roots.

It was great meeting Andy and David, great guys to wheel with. Great seeing my personal trail guide Vince again as well. I was in the rear, so lots of pics of the back of David's 80.

Vince showing us the way on Jotters. The pic never does it justice how steep it seems and the rock ledges sticking out. It gave me flashbacks to the 1st time out seeing @YotaFun wedge ito the rock on the right side and then Mike mess up his Taco trying it on stock suspension. I have vids of Vince and David, need to figure out how to upload to YouTube and embed.

Vince had the task of figuring out if the washouts on every trail would tip us over or not.

I can't believe I'm about to say it, but the weather was actually nice for a change. Great scenery as always.

David, this is a reminder that you have a brake light out.

In addition to looking for washouts on the trail, Vince also had the pleasure of cracking fresh ice on almost every puddle and water hole crossing. Look how thick that ice is ... crazy.

You can't tell a good wheeling story without talking about how you got stuck and had to break out the winch, can you? Vince just rolling over fresh ice in another puddle and found a nice deep mud pit instead.

Now it looks like we've been wheeling hard

Shortly after this I had a failed attempt at getting through a different washed out gully at the same hole when I bottomed out the diff. Caz was right, it was too deeply rutted, but after doing Jotters I was feeling tough.

Back to hopping rocks.

What seemed like a fine trail started to become a washout with huge ruts. You can see the beginning of it by Vince's truck.

Then the trail fell into a gully that was very washed out and off camber. Vince considered it ...
20181208_140737[1].jpg

Then backed up and we made a bypass. He didn't have the chance to pick a great approach angle, so he just squared up and beasted it.

Fill in poser shot of my truck. Smoking a bit of course, cause that's what it do.
