Love to see it! Thank you for the business CD!

You can powder coat a set of 60 wheels Cygnus White and get the 79-83 FJ-40 look.

I know a guy 😉
Do you strip/blast the chrome? Alway curious about the “right” way to powder coat chromed 60 wheels.

The chrome plating on 60 wheels was pretty good quality (good original adhesion) so they are easy to redo. They sand blast up well and the chrome doesn't peel so it does not have to come off. You are just looking for a good clean, smooth surface to work with, and any rust removed as well. A lot of newer wheels and aftermarket wheels have peeling issues from bad adhesion of the chrome to the metal and the only way to fix that is to get the chrome totally off, which pretty much makes a cheap wheel a throw away.

The 60 wheel is a great choice because they are a perfect fit on a 40 and a set in poor original shape is inexpensive and easy to make look great. Just don't make the mistake of using a bright white (like RAL 9003). Use an off white like RAL 9010 (about perfect) or even RAL 1013 (even more off white)

This is a 70 series 16" wheel, but the result will be the same.

Are you gonna drive Kermit to SAS with no top and no doors on like this crazy kid? :D

Haha! No! He had a support vehicle 80 (me). Need some “covered storage” so stock Kermit it is. I love Pterodactyl as we call it! Wicked fast.

Main reason for switching to procar 90s was OEM seats sat a little too low and back position adjustment was limited.

The ProCars are one of the best inexpensive upgrades for a 40. The seats are actually very comfortable. I’ve driven a few hundred miles in a day on them and haven’t been miserable.

Went to start it and it fired briefly and died. Checked the usual. Fuel good. Air good. No sparky. Have a DUI dizzy. Has been awesome for 10 years. Primary coil test passed. Secondary coil passed. Left ignition module as culprit. Got a new ignition module. More robust one. Dyna Mod was what fried. Fired right up. I know some folks dont like these Dizzy’s, and they got a bad rap initially because the dizzy gear was not initially matched for Toyotas. They fixed it and most reviews are really good. I was thinking of going back to OEM but parts are so available in any box store! Reliability=availability at times. Sticking with it. Going to throw a spare ignition module in the glove box.

So I ordered all brake stuff (pads, caliper rebuild kits, shoes, hardware, all brake hoses) from @cruisermatt. On the list next. When done with dizzy, i thought I would dial in the idle better. Then I see that brake fluid in reservoir is nada🙄. Looks lit has been dripping on steering box some. Looks like the bottom “valve” below the reservoir is leaking. Brakes are working though… for now. Looks like a new booster and master is needed.

That looks original.

The fluid?🤣
Both hehe. Luckily I have a new master cylinder. Ordered the brake booster and clutch master and slave/ hose.

Not bad that the original stuff lasted 50 years!
