I am looking for a good recommendation for some good quality jumper cables. I searched but no one was talking about where they bought them from or what they bought. I think I would like something in the 2 to 4 gauge cable range with at least 20 feet.

Any online dealers anyone can refer? Cruiser related would be a plus since I like helping out the guys on the same team.

Phat,

I haven't seen any on here but I had a set for my F150 that were by Coleman Cables. IIRC they were like 16' and definitely a 4 guage wire. Nice setup but it was rather bulky to store. I ended up containing mine wrapped inside the spare tire.

The best made are in your backyard.... Urban.

BTW, a few locals going to Morris Mtn on Nov 9th.... I'll most likely go.

most cables you buy are crap! Hardly any copper, just lots of plastic to make them look beefy

Your best off going to a welding supply shop, and getting some good quality wire there, and some good clips. It'll only take you a little bit to put it all together.

If you want long leads, but dont always need them long, put an anderson plug in the middle, and then make up an extension

Ya, but $265.

I jump box does not take up much more space and is safer to use IMO. Prices have come down a lot in recent years. Otherwise I got my jumper cables many years ago at the local parts store. Just look for some with 2 gauge cable.

Same concept as the Urban but at a lower quality and price level.

Pardon my lack of knowledge regarding electrical systems, but will it hurt (ie short) the external plug-in type setups to go swimming?

I have a set my grandpa made out of welding cable. Beefy as all get-up, but starting to show their age.

I've had my 4ga cables for something like 20 years so I have no clue where I bought them. Go here to Del City. They list 4ga and 2ga.

A jumpstarter is probably the same size and weight as a decent set of cables, and infinitely more useful. No need for another car around. Haven't used jumper cables ever since I got one.

I have that booster cable system and it's pretty hefty. But it's got to be preinstalled on your car, and i lost that connector, so now it's useless.
