Juice's HAMOM - March 14

Doesn't look quite like Marshalls, though. LOL

I had almost all day to work on my truck. It was raining most of the day so I spent my time in the garage getting things ready for my HAMOM. I had hoped to drop in my 2F today but I don't have my manifolds back yet from the shop - they are supposed to be ready Monday.

Had a small setback - ended up I prepped the wrong clutch inspection plate. I had to hand sand, prime and paint another one and it is drying now. Once that is on all I have to install is the manifolds and tstat housing and I can drop this puppy in before my HAMOM.

I did pick up some tubing to extend my breathers on my tcase and axles. I paid a total of about $30 for 3 filters and 25 feet of fuel tube and some hose clamps. I might need more tubing but I figure I'll be making a few trips to Advance during my HAMOM.

My goal is to go ahead and have my 2F in my truck and start hooking stuff up before the HAMOM so I can have as few surprises as possible - it seems I find new 'surprises' everyday working on this puppy.

Just today I realized I have to pull the rocker arm studs off of my 76 head and install them into my 83 so my 76 valve cover will attach properly. That might not get done in time.

Juice, I am still planning on coming. However, that is the day that Taylor gets back from Brazil after a red eye flight from Sao Paulo. So...I'll be there when I can.

Calling Dan...are you still going?

good luck Juice....if we were not having our HAMOM the same day I am sure a couple of us would be up there as well.... we wont be working on a pig but have a few lined up for brake conversions and more to be done.

good luck to you and your helpers....

Sorry if you didn't know dates for UC's HAMOMs - that info is posted on the message board in 3 threads, on the UC homepage calender and I sent it out via email. :frown:

Good luck on getting all of that work done. I like that a brand spankin' new member is getting a disc brake conversion for the price of some beer and Mtn Dew.

I have pretty much everything ready for the HAMOM (minus food and beer). I'm going to try and get a few additional things squared away before Saturday.

I don't think we will have a 220 welder so I'm going to take my rear swing-outs over to a friends house and have him weld them up for me before Saturday.

I have breather line and filters for the t-case breather. That should be pretty dang simple.

Tstat housing is finally together and on the 2F.

Both manifolds are ceramic coated and finally bolted together (long story). I'm going to drop them off at a machine shop today to have them planed. They should be on my 2F by mid-week. After that the motor is ready to drop in.

I don't think I am going to have the hoses that I need to hook up the power steering. My best bet (I think - give me some feedback) will be to get the 2F dropped in and running. Then I'll drive down to Cline and say "what the heck do I need to hook this puppy up?" I'll let them cut me all new PS hoses so I know I have EXACTLY what I need.

I need to pick up some misc hoses - gas lines and suck. I'll do a big of reading and try to get those ready to go too.

Dropping off the Cado for the fitting tonight. If I get the whole top done I will drive it rain or shine.

If it isnt done I will be in the 100.

I tried to finish up some welding last night. My welder was acting up and I was in a hurry which does not = a good combination so I'm going to have to redo some things tonight.

I'm picking up my manifolds from being planed today at lunch. That is the last big thing I'll need to drop in my 2F! :bounce::bounce2:

I picked up some supplies yesterday -
90 wt
10w40
coolant
breakfast
BEER!

I'm also going to pick up a gas heater for the garage so we can stay plenty warm all day Saturday.

I finished up painting my rear bumper last night. I never got around to welding up the little pins that keep the arms from swinging back on you. I'll do that sometime...maybe Sat if someone needs something to do.

I realized this morning the one thing I forgot to pick up was some 2x2x3.16 inch for my rear quarter panel protection and I'm not going to have time to get any today.
