Also I still cant figure out whats wrong with my sunroof, the only time it doesnt rattle is when its half open, im thinking this is because the track and glass condense and compact while retracting.

Tilted up, rattles.
Open 10% rattles,
Open 30% rattles,
Opens 50% no rattle.

Applying pressure to push it up, no rattles.

Added 42shims, washers, nylon washers, no change.

Really dont want to remove the headliner. Might just bite the bullet and take it to toyota. Are sunroof specialist a thing?

Mine was like that and my local auto shop fixed it for an hour of labor. Maybe take it to a few local shops?

General auto shop. Cool Armenian guys who love my truck. They always take great care of stuff that I can't do myself.

Knocked out a few things recently:
Refreshed injectors, since this is a 08/92+ I used the thicker injector seats
#1117627011
Got some new O-rings and Washers as well
#9671124019
#9020108106

So overall impression, car is instantly less smokey. But..... its a lot warmer out so not a direct correlation.

Also got the Tough Dog Shocks installed and the ride of this thing is night and day, seriously didn't know what I was missing. Riding on the OEM shocks that are most likely decades old, wow holy s***. I love it

Also installed the Dawes Boost controller, it took me a few times to dial in because I didnt do any bicycle pump trick, first pull I saw my boost go above 15psi and let off right away, adjusted and 2nd pull it went above 15psi again but in the third pull it stopped at 13psi and I feel good about that.

Also once self isolation is done and I can ride with the homies, I needed a cup holder

At this point just really enjoying the rig and how its driving, cant wait to take it out to a few spots in the ozarks. Got the intercooler in the garage that ill eventually get to, but with how low my EGTs are and how its performing im in less of a rush.

Very nice truck. Looks like you're well on your way, ticking all the right boxes.

Only thing I will add, for yourself and anyone else who may run their exhaust right next to the t-case. One is heat soak, a section of exhaust wrap will help significantly. Will it ever really matter? Up for debate, but there is a wack more heat there than there was before. To me, I would expect much higher lube temps than previously. Mad scientist me would like to test a given distance driven, temp gun case, do the mod, try and duplicate conditions. Temp gun again. Probably redundant but results could be an eye opener. Second, trying to work on t-case or front driveshaft becomes a serious pita (or can...) depending on where exactly the pipe sits, there just isn't much room. A flange before and after case making a section removable for access will save much in the way of time and headaches down the line. Worth doing when you can, before you need too.

Again, very nice truck. These are excellent vehicles, let alone good fun. Capable of some gnarly wheeling with minimal mods while at the same time behaving very well on the highway. Lots of safe power hiding in that engine yet too. Happy trails!

Love this idea, thank you for sharing. Ill add it to the list especially for coming into this summer. Plus, got nothing but free time at the moment

Ive had a valve cover leak for awhile now, got a gasket and went ahead and got a new valve cover as well. I closed the internal baffles as suggested by Safari to around 10mm, the job went easy, got some OEM Toyota FIPG so I can keep stocked.

Also took advantage of the USD to AUD rate and got the HPD Catch can, great quality piece

Buttoned everything up and bada bing bada boom, no leaks

Next project is to lay down some sound deadner and replace this sub back here:

I think I have some air in my system/fuel primer leaking a bit. I started the car after sitting for a couple days and there was struggle to crank, wasnt electrical related well at least electrical sounding. Pumped it before I started it after another cold start and had no issues what so ever.

Went WOT at 20mph a couple days ago and this thing surprised the hell out of me, the few extra pounds of boost has this thing very exciting to drive.

Might want to pack the HPD can with some sort of media or it won't have any effect on oil vapor.

I've been tracking down fuel system air leaks for years, and your situation sounds VERY familiar. If its still an issue after my rebuild I'm installing an electric primer pump and hopefully forgetting about it forever.

@hiluxjeremy About to do the inside exhaust route myself, good idea on wrapping it near the TC.

I didn't realize the HPD can didnt have any sort of baffling inside, I should have checked before installing,I have a bunch of stainless steel pads around here.

Thats disappointing to hear.

It hurts my brain to see someone in the US buying stuff from here because it's cheaper than local. For almost everything else it's always been the other way around. Goes to show how much our dollar has tanked since those brief golden moments of near parity a few years back...

Beautiful clean rig @Jroc561. Don't find many like that anywhere any more! I've had the TD 40mm adjustables on previous cars - good choice.

For you and @dan1554 - I can thoroughly recommend the Provent catch can. Not as pretty as the HPD, but works. I've done the valve-cover vents as well, and I ran a clear hose from the output of the catch can to the re-circ on the intake for a couple of thousand km, and it only got a slight tinge of colour from the air pumping through. Before the can the whole hose down to the turbo was coated in greasy film on the outside, and the inside of the entire intake, including the cross-over pipe, was filthy. I have a hose connected to the drain port that runs down to the chassis near the front diff with a tap on the end for easy draining, and it had probably around half a cup of oil in it when I first emptied it.

@DarkHorse1HDT I got one after realizing the hpd does little. The problem with the provent is it dumps liquid oil directly on the filter element and it quickly saturates. I still use it as it seems fine around idle but I think just vents through the relief valve past that. Just needs to keep the stank down when stopped so I guess it's ok. Might try something else in the future.

I've had no symptoms that would suggest a saturated filter - either oily air getting through to the intake return or any evidence of unfiltered air pushing through the relief valve, which would coat everything in the vicinity.

The filters are a consumable... I don't remember off hand what the expected lifespan is meant to be. Oily film around the outside of the casing is the indicator that the element needs replacing.

It sounds like your motor is throwing a lot of oil if you're talking about 'liquid' rather than 'vapour' and 'quickly saturating'... hopefully closing those baffles up a bit can help stop some of that.

Got the EGT and Boost setup with the mudpod, looking at about 12psi and EGTs are all pretty low during my normal commute(500-800), will try to find some hills around here to see what it could go up to. If you know toyota diesels you also no one of the fears is managing EGTs, happy to find out I havent been driving out of spec and causing damage without knowing about it.

Now that I could monitor changes I will probably up the boost and play with the boost compensator.

I also tracked down the noise that happens randomly when I come up to a stop, it sounded like the engine was slightly out of tune or a worn engine mount just a slight undertone of a "churn" sound. Seems like its the transmission (if I shift it into neutral the sound automatically goes away), hoping to clear that up with a fluid change, I will have to look into it a bit more.

Also found some drips of oil on the driveway, either the rear main seal is slowly dying or its the oil pan gasket is I will have to look again after I cleaned up that area yesterday but if its the oil pan gasket I guess the BEBs move up the list a lot faster.

Do you have a link where you found that "Mudpod"? Looking to add some gauges for my 1HDFT. Contemplating between your setup and A-pillar pod setup...

This is the exact thing I bought, great quality. Matches really well texture/material wise

I was shooting for the OEM look
