I remember driving out to your house and picking up parts from you. I loved your syncro corrado, does your friend still have the Rallye Golf?

I bought another corrado about a year ago but discovered that nostalgia was more powerful than reality. Ended up selling it, will just keep the memories now...

Cool memories. I had a corrado vr6. That thing was incredible. At least the way I remember it. :)

Just bought it....

Finished my 4th oil change with this filter housing. Works great. Does anyone use a filter housing socket that is shorter than the one that comes from Jowett? Reason I ask is my victory 4x4 skid oil filter access panel doesn’t work well with the oil filter socket I ordered when I ordered the jowett filter housing. Looking for a shorter option. This was the first oil change with the victory skids installed. I also decided to put the ez drain valve on the oil pan this time as draining the oil pan with the victory skids was a PITA using the normal oil pan drain bolt and crush washer. Installed the ez drain valve without a crush washer direct to the oil pan. Working great and will make next oil change much easier.

Hey guys, whats the benefit of the filter housing drain valve when you have to remove it anyway to get the filter changed?
I would personally rather run Venza in the event I'm not the one doing the oil sometime.
I get the pan valve, but i don't get the housing. When you drain per @bloc instruction, it works very well and the nib can be hosed just the same...

The valve allows the filter to drain before you remove the filter housing. Otherwise, you'll end up with a lot of oil running all over the place when you remove the filter housing.

I'll look around and see if a shorter socket can be found... if not, perhaps one can be shortened.

The benefit of this over the Venza cap is the absolute ability to remove it w/o much fanfare. Socket, extension, 1/2" ratchet or breaker bar, it will come undone. It's a brick sh*t house, essentially how strong can we make it. The aluminum Venza cap will usually unscrew w/o issue. With that said, I've seen them overtightened/jammed up and even broken a tool or two removing some of those over the years. It also allows the drain valve to be mounted up, as the stock cap will not accept it w/o machine work and a special wrench is then required to clear the drain valve.

Man, I’m so glad I was in the original batch/offer.

IH8 the stock unit.

It's worth the wait. I can't imagine having to deal with suppliers, etc. Godspeed @bjowett

Interested in getting one too, hopefully in the next 6 months. Thanks

Could there be different cap versions? The Performance Tool w83243 2 1/2 socket was too small to fit.
