I registered it from the link at the top of the 70s Tech forum... I noticed other, non 70 cruisers in there, but figured it might be a catch-all.

edit: This is where I registered it, I'll add it to the US list as well. 70 Series Registry
Thanks.... With an increasing number of 70 Series showing up in the U.S., it's nice to know where they are located and who owns them.

I love watching people pull back on the bar like they're holding onto the reins of a horse... "Whoa, boy! Slow down."
Try teaching a couple of teenage children how do drive RHD vehicles. My alcohol intake doubled after that.

Hopefully not DURING the lesson, but hell, I can't blame you either way. ;)
I was shaking to much to grip the beer bottle DURING the lesson. I was too busy trying to grip the imaginary steering wheel and stomp on the imaginary break pedal.

This is what it takes to get a parking spot in Seattle. It's so damned crowded here, some days it takes 30 minutes to get a spot... unless you're sportin' a Cruiser. :)

Beautiful truck

Would you share the dealership you bought it from? they did all the paperwork for you to get from BC to register it in SEattle?

RHD Vehicles | Amazing Auto Imports

Mardy is a good dude, but he's got awful telephone English. He's a lot easier to understand in person. He's bad at keeping you updated, but very good at doing the paperwork and representing the product. He won't haggle, the price he asks is the price you get, or you get nothing, because he knows someone else will buy it. He doesn't sell s***ty product because he's rightfully concerned about his reputation.

I'm dead certain there are better places out there, but you'll also end up paying more. I think Mardy's a good guy, but you need to be patient with him.

Thank you.

I don't need show perfect 27,000$ Land Cruiser. I would prefer a driver. Aside from a LC like yours, I want a 88-89 Master Ace Surf with the full glass window, Toyota Van, 4wd manual.

Since you are close, you were able to meet in person. How would someone further away, go around the logitistical issue?

He had a nice MasterAce there when I visited. A bunch of Delicas and a few HiAces. I didn't see any of the Pajeros, unfortunately.

I paid $10k on mine, but was offered $16k shortly after arriving here. I've had about a dozen people leave notes on the windshield so far. She's not perfect, but she's desirable.

Logistically, I don't know how you'd do it other than a flight to Vancouver, with the intention of buying it, no matter what. Otherwise, you need to fly back home. Just be sure of what you're going to get before you choose... then cross your fingers when you drive home. My trip home was a little sketchy, it had really bad tires. The first thing I did when I got back was replace them and change the oil. I plan on flushing my radiator after this season is done.

No issues at the border?

From what I hear I have to register a diesel in a different US state prior to registering it in CA

That's categorically false. The only thing you need at the border is your bill of sale, the import papers, and something stating that the vehicle is 25 years or older, as of the date of entry. Fuel type does not come into question. As a matter of fact, three of the border officers came out with me to see the truck, because they were so interested and excited about it.

One border guard was uninformed. She told me I couldn't enter without paperwork from the dealer. Another guard told her that she was wrong and that he would take over for her. He told her to process someone else... He just wanted to talk about the truck! If you run into this, simply ask for a more experienced officer and cite the 25 year rule.

"Where the fxxx are my waders?"

Love the truck, hate the traffic, love the duck.

Seattle is home, but I live somewhere else (Whidbey) these days because of the fawkin' traffic.

Yes this is true. If you attempt a direct import into California, you will not have a good experience and may or may not end up with a transferrable title after months or years of headache. If it is registered/titled in another state first, you can transfer into California like any other used car.

Yeah that is what I thought

Thus buying it from a Vancouver dealer is tough for me as how I would register it in Oregon or Seattle before bringing it to Cali

All the master ace surf I see are all registered to Oregon

Sorry, I just read your question earlier. I must not have been focusing. I should have said, "I don't know about how California deals with diesel."
