Cyclosteve, great update.. thanks

In my 97, there is a sight window and I believe a pressure switch in the line next to the battery. Anyone know if the 91 system have these?

The window is on the top of the line at the dryer, and the switch is in the same location as the FZJ.

Odds are that the parts are not stocked, otherwise I am sure that they would have been pulled off the shelf and checked out already.

My buddy's '94 has it behind the battery which I think is the same for from '91 to '94.

well i'm pretty sure i'm that guy :D, but i have a USDM '93 and from the door tag, almost as early 93 as you can get... positive it's R12...

here are pics of the setup, i have the 31M plat batt and the dryer in the batt box. let me know if i can help with pics of any other area...

<pics after they upload.... enhance... enhance...>

CycloSteve, thanks again

SL33p3, great pictures, thanks... do you have a shot of the line running up the side of the Drivers side fender?

hmm, i don't think so. i'll look when i get home...

you know they say its not the size of the loom that's important, but what it protects... i think guys with small looms are the only ones who say it :p <guilty> that's why i have two, to compensate :lol::lol:

When I laid out the '91 B-Line in my rig, it lined up perfectly with the '96 fitting shown above. The only thing I did not do was crack the line to be 100% sure that the threads and o-ring were the same. Was not ready to take that plunge, as I would have suffered the wrath of the :princess: if I had screwed up our perfectly working AC system.

Sorry, I am 6000 miles away from my truck at the moment, so no chance to head out to the garage and take a picture. ;) Hopefully John / sl33p3 can take a shot and post for confirmation.

Looking for an AC shop in the SF South Bay to do the drain and refill when I return later this month.

i was wrong. i do have a fitting there. looks just like your pic. it was hidden by my big loom...

Common John, the suspense is killing me, where is the picture?? Do the connectors look the same?

I am going to pickup my rear heater lines tomorrow at my dealer and will ask for pricing on the forward line, dryer and line to condenser....

R12/R134 fittings/connections are deliberately incompatible in order to prevent mixing of components.

Well, that put's a stop to this fun...

I am thinking this might be all that we need? Amazon.com: FJC Air Conditioning Products - R134a Coupler to R12 Hose Adapter (6018): Automotive

Or not...

Keep going on this boys! I have a leak in an o-ring and would love to relocate my dryer...going to suck the system down soon and it would be perfect timing to move that thing from it's horrible location-what are those guys thinking sometimes?

Ding ding, we have a winner. Even if the fittings are different, a simple $4 part should help to make this happen. Mine won't be done until later in the month, perhaps another Mudder is closer to doing theirs this weekend. ;)

All said, if this works it should be pretty easy for anyone to pull these bits off a used 91-93, or order brand new ones from the numbers in my post above. Not that it will be that much cheaper than ordering the custom kit from Japan, but it will be 99% OEM with 1% custom fitting.

Looking forward to the results.

I am going to have a good look over everything today and see if I feel like doing it hahah.
